Instead of going to Bangkok which is stil unsafe, I suggest you take the train from Hanoi to Sapa. Trust me, I bet you'll love it. Ha Long Bay is nice too and I have been to these places last year. Next week, I will be visiting Shanghai !!

Now this people talking about rice when rice price is going up. Why didn't they talk about it earlier ? Didn't they anticipate this to happen one day ? Its so usual of this governement, when something happen then everyone will start talking about it as a very hot topic. And did anyone follow up to monitor what happens next or it just die off naturally after sometime. All they know is just talk cuck when the PM starts talking and later spending large amount of monies onto it. Then project here and there. And a large portion will go to their pocket !

wow! sounds great ! My first question is .. how u survive ? Your blog generate income ? Ok, just some tips for cost saving when u r here, take meals where locals eat and not tourist. For breakfast at the kampung, can be only RM2.00 with "ike ayo" (ikan tongkol) with warn water (free). There you can borrow a bicycle from the homestay to move around. For further distance, travell by public bus. Our public bus fare is far more cheaper than KL. For more adventure like you as a journalist, try escape to Thailand once in a while to peep. haha. Kelantan is not just about Islam, you can also visit the outskirt where there are Siamese village and huge Thai Buddhist Temple. I think there are more than 10 buddhist temples with Thai influence in their architecture all over Kelantan, and some of them is not even explored by tourist. Perhaps you can write some article about tourism too. We have lots of water falls. Btw, don't expect beautiful beaches in Kelantan. But we have natural kampung beach just like what you see in the late P.Ramlee's movie. But ofcourse if you really want some fun, go to the border of Terengganu, right at besut and the boat can take you to Pulau Perhentian for snorkeling. Really not for from KB town. I think Husam's residence is near to the beach i.e. P.C.B. (Pantai Cahaya Bulan). If you stay near there, you can always pay him a visit and interview him. Or is it you are staying at his house ? or is he the one arranging for your homestay ? Am I saying too much ? ok, ok..bye

look at the brighter side. I think this place is safe as they got JA people patronising the place regularly. So any rempit lover won't dare to be there. The only thing wrong with this hotel is the management itself. Didn't the receptionist inform the JA that the room is occupy by a chinese ? And did the receptionist accompany the JA and the shortie to the room door ?

tried the taost and half boiled eggs at the White House ? Its opposite the State Mosque. It's always fulled. Also another old cofee shop opposite Crystal Lodge Hotel, served good bread toast and cofee. Those are the orginal kopitiam. The modern ones are Hayaki and a few more at Jalan Sri Cemerlang. Get free Wifi at all the 3 Hayaki outlets, one at jln Kebun Sultan, another one is next to Mydin Supermaket, near Kebun Sultan and along kebun Sultan just next to Kelantan Chinese Chamber is a new kopitiam outlet with free wifi, and the last Hayaki is along jalan Pasir Puteh, just further up from Renaisance Hotel. Inside Tesco you can also get free wifi at one of the cafe, whereby you buy a drink and get a free delicious donnut.
if u r really thirsty, u can get them at many places.. especially along Kebun Sultan.. and explore them at Wakaf Bharu and also along the way to Pengkalan Kubor. The kelantan Club do serve beer too but only open to members only.
Why pork when u r in KB ? Overhere you should try Nasi Sumatera and the best one is Hoover Restauraunt. Others good Malay rice includes Kak Wok, they have many outlets, Nasi Abe Mi also porpular and a few Nasi kukus outlet. Check it out ! Those places, you just need to ask anyone at the street and they should be able to tell you the location if ther are from KB.
This 2 weeks, you'll see KB street gets jammed as lots of tourist are visiting KB. If u r somewhere around the state mosque, u'll see alot of tourist busses parking. Those are people from the west coast who are as curious to see how Kelantan really looks like under Islamic ruling so when they go back next time, they'll be waiting for the next election to vote for the same !!!

agreed with feudal. yea.. jed take a closer look at the malay business women, at the market or at the stall selling morning rice. Even at the night market. The husband are only the chauffer carrying the wife to work for business and later they just relax and play "catur" at a corner of a cofee shop while their wife busy taking care of the business. Look out for the gelang mas hanging on their neck and wrist ! snap2 some pics !

This is a new hotel. Not even 1 year old. The land is owned by the Sultanate family. But the hotel is owned by Dato' Tan of SBJ ( Developer and Contractor). You will see alot of SBJ signboard around in town.. colour in green and white if I am not mistaken.

hei, seems like this is the most happening hotel in KB ! I being a local guy never heard of so much happening at our local hotels before. This is my first. Btw, what is the name of that hotel ? Is it at the shoplot somewhere across the clock tower roundabout ? If that's the one.. the owner also owned a Chinese Medical / Herbs shop. Right ? Opposite that row of shop, behind OAC Bank is Hotel Meriah. I think that one is safer, cos alot of police also stays there. Once you have moved out, just let us know what's the name of that Hotel. You should have chase after them and snap a photo of them for identification purpose. Another alternative is to get the help of Kickdefella (Sheih). He is working with the PAS government. Or maybe you should go to the MB's office and get more details about those guys and lodge a complaint. From there, you can get hold of some big shot (or that shortie) and do some interview about PAS administration. Just like the malay saying... sambil menyelam, minum air. hehehe.....

i think MP Kubang kerian is Sallahudin Ayub. Quite young and hansem, looks better than what u see in papers. I wonder why Salor (Dun) which is under Husam is under Kubang kerian when it is so far out.
Try interview Mr Tan Ken Ten (MCA-Kota lama) the only BN chinese candidate during he last election. Very nice guy but lost during the last election. I attended a few of his talk but never understand at all as he speaks Mandarin in is campaign. Perhaps you get his side of the story about kelantan.

Still hunger for pork ? I just came back from this shop opposite Hong Leong Bank at Jalan kebun Sultan a.k.a. China Town. The stall infront serve good steamed pork rice, Thai style at RM4.00 per plate. Very delicious and tasty. i tried it before in Thailand many times and this is my first time having it in KB. You should go try them. They only sell in evening onwards. One more thing.. the stalls (i think all of them) are outsiders. They only speak mandarin ! and I only speak hokkien !!!!! And this lady selling steam pork rice is from Thailand, I think.

They are Mr and Mrs Foo. There is another selling better ( i think..) opposite Chung Cheng School, infront of the mini hawker centre. Try it out ! Everyone knows that place. If you can't find it..just ask around.. says the old lady "y-chui"in hokkien or slunting mouth selling chinese curry rice. Only available in the morning. The old lady use to sell more than 30 years ago. Now the son-in-law takes over.

the one near Ataka Tailor, ... yes it is by the river side, the row of new shops next to River View Hotel. I heard they provide free vegetarian lunch, and also receive donations. They are provided by a group of birds breeders (swift). I haven't try but will some one reconfirm if its really free ?
Yes, Jed the one you went was a nice place. But I think most of the Vegetarian food I ate at the shop especially Muhibah Rest.. alot of Ajinomoto lah ! You can feel it after few hours of eating.

And those idiods thinks they are great annoucing their allownances cut by 10% only ? They should cut off fully on all their entertainment allowance. RM5,000.00 per kg. No labour headache. All you need to do is just walk around during the day and count how many birds actually fly in. Would you invest in it ?
Nowadays, they are buiding package buildings and shoplot for breeding swift birds for sale. Those with already bird nest in it fetch higher price. No birds yet but got guarantee at different price.
Those sounds are $$$$$$$ to their ears. You can find that not only in KB town but all over. Beware of conman too !

yeappie, this bird nest breeding generates income especially for people in Kelantan which is consider undeveloped. The state will be promoting it soon. But they definitely don't allow you to breed them at residential area. Who would want to rent the third and fourth floor of a building in Kelantan beisdes birds ? If there are, they fetch only very low rental rate.

msleepyhead, in Kelantan, we also have quite alot of malay breeders. They even have associations and talks on how to breed them. There is one chinese by the name J.P. Tan who is teaching the malays on breeding bird nest.

enjoy your stay, ok,ok.. I will go there tomorrow morning. I haven't been there for so long now that we have so many places to eat. But ever since I become more health concious, I prefer only to take bread, biscuits and milo at home for breakfast. The last time I was there is to try out the Penang Laksa, sold by a siamese lady. It was the best in Kelantan.. and that was about last year.
Nowadays, if I want to have breakfast, I would go for Kak Wok or the Teluk Chempedak Nasi Lemak near SBJ appartment.

Jed, I think you have tonnes of articles waiting to be published after your recent visit to Tumpat. Did you visit the Restauraunts in Wakaf Baharu after sunset ? We have Cheang Mai, Pattaya, Kulim, Bangkok etc.. We also have Cowboy and Apachee for the more playful guys.. The the halal one also plenty, or mushrroming around Wakaf Baharu with dim lights and some with even projector and big screen. Go take a look. And they open till past midnight.

I think satay Razak is better. It's located somewhere opposite Wakaf Baharu police station. Slightly further up on the right. Satay jaafar is too sweet for me.
So, you want to get to the happening places ? Which one ? The real thai restauraunts ? There are plenty.Or the real real happening one? The real real one are for Men only lah !!!! hehehe... but its along the road side before reaching Sitting Buddha at Pengkalan Kubur.

After all, we voted Barisan Nasional all these years.. ??? Yes, we vote BN but not that sleepyhead. RM2.70 is very high for me if they raise from RM1.92 . And my work requires me to travel alot. Worst still I am working for a Cinabeng company with sleeping and asshole boss who limits our mileage claimt but ask for higher productivity every year. Funny thing is that they immediately raise the prices but never bother to raise our mileage claimt. You understand ???

I finally try out the prawn mee at Restoran Capital. Yes it's yummy. My first time too.
Yes,I was also a victim of development. My house used to be opposite New Pacific Hotel. My paternal granny use to be in Bachok, near the padi fields, by the river side. Now I can't remember the exact location. We have to shift house a few times to give way for new construction.
And my dad's business also have to give way for Supermarkets (that time no malls and hypermarkets).
My mum, sis and autie died of cancer too.

Ok, I was at USM this afternoon. Thought of looking out for Min HomeStay. Hei,it's really deep inside the kampung. I went in all the way until I nearly get lost. Hei, how did you find this place ? I followed the small sign board to no where until I realize was back to the main road but, no Min Homestay.
Quite alot of nice bungalows around ! Kelantan people are rich mann.. no need BN to be around. That's why that fellas sent all the Jabatan Hasil Dlm Negeri team to raid the kelantanese business.

The longger you stay in Kelantan, the more you are like them ! hehehe... that means: you drive at very slow speed, at the trafic light junction when the red light turns green and your car is stil idle and you speed when the trafic light turns red, you like to gossip and sit at the coffee shop for hours, dress like aunties, like to go to the Mall (only KB Mall available), to get hi-tech you probably go to hayaki with your lap top, you'll probably open your big eyes as if ur eyeball going to drop when you see some ladies wearing a bit sexy and you like wearing bermudas when going out to town and dress wrongly at the wrong places. hehehehe.....

Wow ! you really go all the way to look out for those places we suggested ? You on holiday or what ? Hei, did you explore Thailand ???? Golok to be more specific. I suggest you take a public bus to Rantau Panjang. Then walk over to the border. That will save petrol cost and you get to meet those locals and chat around with the Mak CikS and the students. After all, you are not in a hurry, right ? Ok, one tips for you... at least you know why no brothels in Kelantan cos Golok is so near and cheap lah !!! Got discos, pubs, young chicks...beer. They say it's men's heaven...haha.. Hei, brothels only in Cinabeng town.... like Ipoh, Penang and Johore. Even in small town like Nilai also alot of China Dolls ! Am I right, fellow readers ??????
p/s: or am I saying what I am not supposed to disclosed to the ladies ??????? hi..hi..hi.. Sorry guys.

Good that you ask first, Jed. Ok, Kuala Krai Zoo already closed down. Don't waste your time for the zoo.If you drive to Kuala Krai,it takes about an hour.. 80km. But beware of speed traps.
And if you drive to Gua Musang by passing Kuala Krai, it takes another 2 additional hour. Hotel in Gua Musang is quite expensive for a small little town. You might as well drive up to Cameron Highland for another 2 to 3 hours. But of course again in between Gua Musang to Cameron Highland (halfway) at Simpang Pulai, you might as well drive another one hour to Ipoh City. haha..
Wakaf Bharu to Gua Musang by train is very interesting, but the train is really a very old train.. you can call a junk. Always spoilt somewhere along the way. I think no aircond. And the seats really run down. But still a nice try. Really a long journey. May be you can take a bus back during the return journey. But remember, if you drive to Gua Musang, you can really drive to cameron Highland, and later to Ipoh. Check out the lojing forestry as well. Nice photos to be taken and articles to write up.

Sun Too originated from the one at Jalan Temenggong, near the Hotel Temenggong junction. It's still there. It was a very high class restauraunt when I was still a little kid. Then I get to go there only during my teen age when I collected enough money during Chinese New Year. They once add in a space, turning it into something like a nite club during the late 70's. I used to like ice creams, ABC, popiah and curry puffs. Now it's a normal cofee shop. Btw, hey produce their own ice cream for distribution in the kelantan market.

Try going a few shops down from "your" Sun Too restauraunt towards Muhibah Cake house. There is a very nice and tasty beef noodle shop. They have been selling more than 30 years ago. A must try if you enjoy eating. But the shop is very hot ! Try take the seat by the walk way. For drinks, you may order mix soya with red bean.

What that Ahmad wanted to do is to ask the ACA to dig up all the past assets and expediture of the prevous leader. Don't you all see that ? So, he is smart to buy the Merc first. He knew if he were to ask for approval first, it would have got rejected. So, now politely he disclosed the maintenance expenditure of the perdana. From there, he asked the ACA to check on those more serious expenses first like masjid crystal and the monsoon cup.
More over this guy also want to feel to luxury status of MB. After all, the previous use to enjoy life. Why not him ?
Last time that Yussof don't want him. Now, he want to did out Yussof lah. Right ?
Now to avoid all secrets exposed, it was approved. That's how I see it only lorr.

OEM products. Manufacture in China but according to the local distributor's requirement, and package and branded locally. No not for me. China is a profesional in fake products. They do it so well until you can't really tell weather it is fake or not. They will produce according to the importer's spec and price. They are better immitation producer than Thailand. And the price ? You just tell them, and they will produce it. So, certain goods marketed in UK or US can be of better quality. And local distributors mark up very high for the profit margin before price starts to drop when come competition. The quality ? Not for me. Usually they never last as it supposed to be.

GEORGE TOWN: Leaders of various political parties here said that the apology by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak should have come from Bukit Bendera Umno division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail himself.
On Tuesday, Najib issued a public apology over a racist remark made by Ahmad during the Permatang Pauh parliamentary by-election last month.
State Gerakan Youth committee member Dr Thor Teong Gee said he failed to understand why Najib had to make the apology.
"The present leadership is 'inconsistent'. The Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi) said Ahmad did not mean what he said. Now you have his deputy apologising for Ahmad.
"All along what everyone wanted was just for Ahmad to come forward himself to apologise sincerely, admit to his mistake and ensure it would not happen again.
"We are even ready to give him the benefit of the doubt and let him explain himself if he did not mean what he had said," Dr Thor said.
Ahmad had allegedly called the Chinese pendatang (immigrants) and was also reported to have said that “as the Chinese were only immigrants it was impossible to achieve equal rights amongst races” during a ceramah in Permatang Pauh on Aug 25.
He had allegedly uttered the remarks in Najib's presence.
Dr Thor said as it was a very sensitive issue, Ahmad should also be subjected to the law under the Sedition Act.
"Barisan Nasional should take action against Ahmad if Umno does not," he said.
Penang MCA deputy chairman Lau Chiek Tuan said the apology was unacceptable and Ahmad should not use Najib as a "shield".
"How can Najib apologise when he did not say such things? He should not have to.
"But even if Ahmad apologises, it is still insufficient. The Umno leadership must take disciplinary action against him," Lau said, adding that police and legal action should also be taken.
Tanjung DAP division youth secretary Ng Wei Aik, who is also Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng's political secretary, felt that Ahmad should not be let off the hook.
"If the Deputy Prime Minister can apologise, why can't Ahmad? He should not have others apologising for him. He must face the people and ask for forgiveness himself," he said, adding that he believed Najib's apology was intended to appease MCA and Gerakan.
Ng also said if Umno wanted to appease the people, Ahmad must face the music.
Numerous attempts to reach Ahmad failed, as calls were directed to his voicemail.

haha.! One thing I always put in mind.., never meet up with an on-line friend. You don't even know their actual opinion, unless you are very sure you speak the same language and direction, especially on topics like politics and religion. Unless you are prepared to be just a listener.
And he is also using the wrong example ? Like..... his son's jumping the hospital que. ? That is either a yes or no answer. If you says "yes" that means you agreed to him.
