Definately the best laptop i've ever dealt with, even has biometric authentication on the form of a finger swipe so you dont have to worry about remembering passwords..... thats if you worry about that sort of thing! Nice pricetag on that model though which would put me off anyway! :-/

Would have to agree with you Paul. A man of Zidanes reputation, who is a professional footballer should really act as a professional. He was one of my all tie favourite footballers and I still admire him for his unreal ability but that will be my lasting memory of him as im sure it will be for many others. He has disgraced himself.

This is a really cool new feature. Ive noticed that if someone sends you an MP3, or some other format of music file that it also allows your to preview it with the Gmail player. Neat :)

Funnily enough it was only yesterday that I was checking out the Rad-Rails IDE again and was going to tell you of my findings on Monday! It seems to have heaps more features than Ride-Me at this point.

Looking after their customers, quite impressive.

Ive been with hostdime.com for a few years now and Ive never had any problems with them. My yearly subscription went through last week so I wont be looking around for a while but I will keep TextDrive in mind for the future :)

Miami Vice was awful alright. Only good thing was the sound track during the movie... strangely they released an OST with completely different and rubbish songs on it and not the array of audioslave numbers that were okayed during the movie.

Sounds like a bit of a pain Paul. I'm really shocked that their using PayPal given the size of Yahoo. You would think they could shell out for a third part gateway.

Hi Paul,

As far as I remember I currently own three:

chris-gallagher.com - my personal site, not much more there than a blog.

linkshrinkr.com - Like you got a bee in your bonnet with Jaggr, I had this for some reason. I had intended on expanding on the prototype coded in php thats there at the moment but havent really had time to sit down and look at it. Id like to look at using rails to implement it properly when I do find the time :)

Finally I own ufcpedia.com - Intended to be the UFC's equivilant of lostpedia and all that. Again it was an idea that I had and Ive received a lot of backing from bloggers and all that in the area but havent had time to do much more than install wiki software for now.

I saw that movie a little while back. Its pretty good. Laura Harris plays the heroine very well. I can see a sequel but god knows where they would go with it.

Ah yes its outstanding. Mark Whalberg was a revelation in that movie for me. Thoiught he was just an average actor but proved me wrong.

I used to be a cricket fan myself but the lack of coverage since I moved over here kind of put a damper on the whole thing. I wouldnt exactly be crazy about the test matches spanning over days and days but I do like the one day matches. Much more pace to them and people actually get on with it.

As for the channels in Ireland, yeah its expensive. I think the cheapest way is to go with actual Sky and not through the cable providers.

Ah, one day I will know the joy of the Mac :) I'm more than happy that I moved away from windows to Ubuntu though. Programs don't die every two seconds now and startup is almost instant in comparison. The negative to Linux is that I can run software such as photoshop and fireworks on my machine, hence I have to boot into windows. Mac prodvides you guys with the best of both worlds and now with parallels it seems to pretty much be the Ultimate platform for developers. Im green!!!

@Brian W: I think you may have picked me up wrongly, I was just saying that parallels running on Mac as yet another plus for the OS, not something thats differentiating it from the chasing pack. Indeed, I do run a VM on Windows XP on Ubuntu so that if I need to do something quickly with windows, Ill just fire that up, where as if its something thats going to take me a while I'll boot into Windows fully.

Thats cool. With stumbleUpon i recall that it asks you to list your topics of interest and the granularity of these wasnt all that low. With Google powering this one, they already know what we look at every day and hence can present much more relevant content. I don't think I'll end up using it all the same.-

Pretty cool theme. I find that the original theme in netvibes has been the one that I've found the easiest to read since I've used it. I've gone through a few of them and always found something wrong in the end.

Dance music isnt something ive ever fully been able to get into although I do listen to a bit of the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk and the likes from time to time. Music seems to come in waves and I'm sure a period of dance music is due in the next few years.

It was awful to watch alright. I kept expecting us to pull away and score a couple of tries in the second half but when it got to 65 mins I then realised that we were in deep trouble.

Peter Stringer had an absolute nightmare. His pass which was intercepted for the Georgian try said it all.

I'm not a huge fan of facebook myself. I do see some value in what it does but at the same time its not worth the kind of money.

I bet both our bosses will want us to build applications that integrate with the facebook platform before long though!!!

I've done it myself. Well I went as far as running an application off localhost within facebook but didnt have time as of yet to go and deploy an application online so that I can get some exposure to the FBML and AJAX they have running behind it al... thats the stuff that really interests me.

I was disappointed to hear that Radiohead are also going to release their album on the Parlophone label in January. It wasnt that they hid the fact that they were going to do it, its more than people started to shout from the rooftops that Radiohead had abandonned the label and were going it alone.

That being said, I'm still happy to pay a bit extra for the music to get it a few months in advance.

Its a really good album too. Bodysnatchers is classic Radiohead.

To be honest I cant remember the last time that an ad that I saw on the web actually had any effect on me at all. I think thats the case with most people working in the area of IT, in that after a while you just block them out and start viewing the web with proverbial "blinkers". When I Google something, I automatically block out the sponsored links and look at what I know to be the real results. My younger sister on the other hand will always click these links, believing them to be the best results that the search has returned. I know its not the exact same thing but its a factor.

I also think that people in IT are much wiser than those on the rest of the planet ;)

Hmmm I'm not sure if she has ever bought anything from the ad's to be honest. I was more making a case for why targeted marketing may be more geared towards those who, as you put it, don't 'know how the system works'.

24 is great but it really has run its course now IMO.

Have you ever seen Heroes Paul? Its probably the best show I've ever seen. Their heading on to the third series in September, everyone who watches it its absolutely hooked :)

Lost sort of 'lost' its way between seasons 2 and three but season 4 has really taken off again. Questions answered yet more questions posed!
