Makes me feel pretty cool to be considered "essential." I totally love Problogger and Lifehacker, too.

Re: Letting Your Passion Lead You

Great post. So true. I think a lot of people get caught up in believing that work and play can't exist together. Following your passion can be a lot of fun, which makes it too good to be true for them. And so they settle.

I've often wondered what the world would look like if everyone actually took the risk to follow their passion.

Re: Dwayne’s World » Reinvent Yourself!

Thanks for the link, Dwayne. He said that while all of his friends went to college and got degrees to have something to fall back on, he was out pounding the pavement and working in clubs. He knew he HAD to make it. And he said that of all of his friends, he's the only one still in the business.

If you have something to fall back on, you most certainly will fall back on i

Re: The Importance of Play AND Work

Amen, brother. Encouraging others to mix play and work is the life mission of me and my wife. Giving ourselves permission to play not only give us all some much needed balance, but it also makes us that much more energetic and our ideas that much more interesting when we are working! Adultitis is a deadly enemy that we all face, but the prescription is just a little bit of fun!

Re: Thesis Tutorial: Multiple Custom Page Templates

Great tutorial. I'm a relative newbie and got it working on my test site using your example. However, my goal is to create a custom template that uses a different header image than the rest of the site. The navigation tabs would stay the same; I pretty much just want to be able to specify a certain header image for certain pages. Your tutorial seems to just include the stuff under the header and before the footer. Any advice on how to proceed?

Thanks!

Re: Miami Nice

Now as a die hard Chicago Bears fan, I have to take issue with your projection of a blowout... I certainly will grant you that the Bears are underdogs, but I think they'll give the Colts a run for their money. I got a vintage Walter Payton jersey for Christmas, and the Bears are 2-0 with me wearing it. (Talk about a trend!) I'm taking it with me this week to California where I'll be watching the game from my hotel room.

I heard an interview today on Chicago sports talk with Dwight Freeney. He seems like a class guy. I hope I (and expect) it will be a good game. I'll tell you what though, if my boys do go down, I could think of A LOT worse things than seeing Peyton Manning and Tony Dungy celebrating. They represent what is great about football.

Re: Our Trip to the Zoo

He's a budding star of National Geographic! I think it's so cool to let kids run wild with the camera. Too many times grown-ups are busy worried they'll waste film, break something, or miss a good shot. That attitude results in missing out in seeing a fresh perspective on things as well as empowering the kid to really feel like a big shot. Kudos to you and your son!

Re: A Series of Unfortunate Events

The only good thing about days like these is that they eventually end.
