ophelia_chong thanks!

"Fish Eyeballs": similar to "having eyeballs on your site", but with the addition of just plain staring at your site while held captive in a glass bowl.

thanks for commenting! :O)

I think, in prediction two, that it will be more that people may turn towards wearing more clothes suited to their individual type and personality. For example, people who wear renaissance, bondage, SCA, punk, goth, or Loli-goth garb only at events, might actually start wearing them as regular everyday where. I mean, why not?

ophelia_chong If there was no internet, someone would have to create flashcards of textor, so that we could communicate face to face. I would hold up a "LOL" to your "ROFL" card . ;O)

I think that's a really good thought. My dad wants a laptop, but he gets the shakes and those keyboards are awful for a person with normal hands. And the screens? Forget it. Any computer screen - Kindle, Reader, Computer, is hard on the eyes.

I hate to say it, but I think it's going to take the current "youth" to age before anything is done about all that. They're the ones that are writing the code and creating the new systems and they're doing it for themselves. Not until they actually get old enough to look beyond themselves will it happen.

ophelia_chong Hopefully that youth group will see the potential in the aged group and that they can make a lot of money from them. Monetary wins over Philanthropy.

Money is always a great motivator. :O)

in You Know Too Much on How To Split An Atom
Some places I don't leave a real name and only use an email I keep as backup not connected to me just because I get so tired of leaving trails of cyber DNA everywhere. At the same time, I have friends I like to communicate with and I'm home most of the time so this is it. A blessing and a curse.

ophelia_chong I have met the most amazing people online. But I only meet people on sites I am very active on and trust. And only on the sites that uphold their TOS
(twitter, well, they're working on it)

in Nice Threads You Got There on How To Split An Atom
Alberto - that is one of my pet peeves as well. I mean, how hard is it to go through the email before you, pay attention, and answer all the questions listed? I'm not sure if it's because people are lazy? Or they think they can get away with avoiding those questions? Or maybe it's because so many people are alliterate these days (skimming what they read instead of fully comprehending it). So frustrating.

in If You Love Me, You Would Google Me on How To Split An Atom
Really good point. I kinda wish they'd had Google way back when I was going on blind dates. I coulda been saved a lot of grief...

ophelia_chong Even then some of us would still go on that date. Personality plays into it, the "Fixer" will definitely go out with that lost Boy/Girl type. Or the curious. But its a whole new game when a date can get nipped in the bud even before the first hello. So does that make it harder to find that one true love? No, just go outside and play. Eventually that person will cross your path, the organic way. In real life.:O)

in Creatives, Distribution And The Power Of The Web on How To Split An Atom
I agree with Ophelia. There's a lot to be said for the handmade that has gotten lost in our pixelated world of perfection. I'm a writer and though much of my writing happens on the computer screen, it usually begins with pen scratching words on paper. There's a visceral connection that happens when we are physically connected to our creations. We know our creations more deeply, how they'll hold up and what they mean to us, when we do things by hand - whether it's crocheting an afghan, writing a poem, or creating images.
