So far we've had Teddies from Canada, USA and Australia. I', looking forward to giving survivors in other parts of the world a voice to.
The message from a Teddy yesterday was: You are not your past.
A very poignant and well processed message indeed.
If you were sexually abused as a child, you are not your past.

Lee and her group of women are all going to Canberra for the "Sorry" statement by Kevin Rudd. She is very excited and was overwhelmed on Thursday by finding out that she had funding to travel to Canberra with all of her women and that Imaginif was going to support her in supporting the art therapy group.

I hope to be able to help Lee sell some of the artwork after the women have an exhibition. No doubt that will come at the end of the 12 months support.

Leigh, a whale of an article - fantastic.
I watch the slaughter with horror and just cannot fathom how this still happens.
I do not support the harming of any creature - human or animal.
Top the Japanese Government - STOP WHALE SLAUGHTER.
I'm with Heather on boycotting Japanese products - including movies, comics, and software.
Cruelty to animals is one of the variables I look at in social assessments. It is generally a bad sign. Why should we use the variable on individuals but not on Governments? The Japanese Government's continuation of their rhetoric around whaling may make for some nice evidence of perpetrator behaviour and speak. I have ZERO respect for what they are doing.

We use BiCarb for almost everything. One of my counsellors recently removed the coffee stains from inside all the cups by sprinkling with salt before giving them a scrub. I hadn't seen that one before.
I wonder if readers will also commit to swapping just one cleaning product for a natural cleaner come Earth Hour, when all the lights are turned off for an hour. Go buy a natural product as listed above and be ready to replace the domestos when if runs our after Earth Hour. Make the swap and save the planet for our kids. Little things make a huge difference to our environment.

Happy International Women's Day Leigh and the All for Women crew.
We have a rather large afternoon tea planned at Imaginif. Have sent the boys out for the day and am busy preparing the catering. I will be asking two questions of our women guests this afternoon: 1) How did you choose the clothes to wear today (I picked ones that didn't need ironing) and,
2) What are the most important social issues for you.

Naturally I will analyse answers and create a blog post about it :)

I've posted some photos of we women this morning and will take some during our arvo tea and get them on this evening.
We are women and we make a difference.

We love the wildlife that the natives attract (especially the birds)and the easy care in comparison to non natives.
I do rather want a gardener though. To view the home and garden type pictures of native gardens and then view my own, leaves me feeling somewhat depressed. Can you imagine how it would be if I had an ordered English garden!!!!!
Give me the natives any time for our environment - native planting makes sense.

I was surprised at all the media hype surrounding this - my view of the 21 club was that it was no more than a sophisticated and organised version of what girls have been doing for a long, long time.

In FNQ, the nicely reworded girl gangs are referred to as "the posh girls" or the "in club". To be in their group is, apparently, far better than eating chocolate.

Boring and unposh as I am now and ever have been...I want chocolate.

Great post Leigh. I hope that mothers everywhere understand the essence of raising our daughters to be healthy: physically and emotionally.
