Excellent!

I agree with Miss Troeth (hi!) with respect to the sentiment that they didn't give you much time.

Here's to hoping that someone, somehow will be given a solid platform from which the less clueful parents (and does that mean most of them?) can be given trustworthy guidance on how to best approach the facts of their kids' net use.

(I was amused by the way the presenter deflated when you explained that the grownups-in-kids-clothing class of online predators gets disproportionate attention. Teehee.)

Re: Berlin, Belgrade: Two Contrasting Airport Experiences

Meanwhile, here in the States it's damned near impossible for me to find an Internet connection for the cost of buying an item from the bill of fare... at least on long stretches of the West Coast. I have many choice words to share about the unholy alliance between T-Mobile and Starbucks.

And what occasions this?

I just got home tonight from my fourth trip out of town this year, eight segments that have taken me to five different airports (and through security at three of them).

This morning, I was asked to put my shoes through the machine separately from the rest of my gear... and apparently, in all of this other travel, I'd not been asked previously to do so, which according to the TSA staff was an egregious violation of official policy.

Between that and the Global War on Moisture... yeah. I heart flying anymore.

Re: finally ALA posts something thought provoking

JZ publicly invited me to submit more often... so I see a constituency gathering, I guess.

Ross Olson (another ALA contrib) is on my contact list, and when I IM'ed him to point him at the article, he called Lesson No. 5 the 'best heading ever.'

Thanks for mentioning the article. :-)
