Good selling comes from skilled storytelling. It is what makes successful cons work. You get the people interested in your story. It is not a sales pitch - it is a commitment to an adventure. Especially in our space where many are new and/or eager to get involved with this exciting media.
Though I may be telling them what I will be doing for them, it is always couched in "we".
We will be building traffic to the site, using Google in so many ways ( a term that brings enthusiastic smiles and wide eyes from most), and then we will venture into social media - this is where will all get to have some fun. Promoting the company, engaging potential customers with creative videos, funny stories that get people amped on products and services... we need to create personas that people will warm to like close friends....
You get the idea - it is the fun part of the endeavor, followed by the well written proposal and then commencement of the work

While an attack on anyone is a travesty to free speech, using it to suggest actions are "a black eye" is not a way to create harmony.
The mix of people asking questions in the YouTube debates was reflective of the users of the web... is that suppose to be surprising. Obviously other supporters would be looking on and trying to ask questions.

The unfortunate part is Google Analytics is really a service the paid companies charge for - though many will soon drop away.
If you want the real robust stuff you have to go paid... use GA until you make enough to drop it... if you are in a competitive space they will share the aggregate info and you are doing work for the newer people in your space.

I think you may be living in some sort of fantasy land where everything is free and people do not need money to survive.
I own my own blog... pay the hosting and have on occasion done a review blog - while my time is paid for my opinions are not bought. So what that makes me a whore or a pimp - I think there are claims of both in the comments above. It would be nice to know if I am being fucked or getting someone fucked.
