I think Hull should ask for an enquiry into that defender actually stamping on their players arm (seen at the end).

I remember this final very well; at the young age of 14 sitting in the front room watching United seemingly going to lose; I'm sure both sets of fans can understand the euphoria of coming back from what seemed a lost cause to win in Europe. I still hold memories from '99 more dearly than I would hold Liverpool's 2005 success; but as a Man United fan, I cheered Liverpool on all the way when I watched that game.

I guess my point is that they cannot be held in comparison to each other as they were both unique scenarios.

Just my opinion, but the shot for Ronaldo for the first goal seems to touch the tip of the toe on that defender; the best replay for it is the last replay. Seems to be heading further right for a split second.

Anyone agree? :)

The 2nd goal by Tuncay was actually deflected in by the defender that slide tackles infront of him. Looks more like he was cutting it back.

I think the tackle which led up to the goal was actually fine. At first glance it looked like he chopped the player down after feeling he should have got a foul himself, BUT, on one of the next angles, you see he gets a foot to the ball.

I agree with Madridista, that was never a penalty, even if the guy had of been free of the defender, that ball was a mile passed them.

How was it a clear red card, he went in hard, but no feet raised, no studs showing. There wasn't even a need for a yellow in my opinion.

I'm a united fan and I think it wasn't a sending off, the penalty didn't seem like much of a penalty either.

Oh well, a win and 3 points :)!!
