Giannii,
It's more then just the widget, it's WP not seeing what DISQUS marked as SPAM. Sent you email with details.

in Regarding The Recent Spam on DISQUS Blog and Forum
Evan MARK SPAM manually does not work for me:
- the spam comment is not displayed under the blog post - that's good
- but it is still listed in the "recent comments" widget in my sidebar, which is really, really bad
I'm also getting close to removing DISQUS :-(

in The Bogus Vista vs. Windows 7 Debate on Zoli's Blog
Daniel,
Now we're on the same side, no need for a new OS. Microsoft knows it too: Win7 is really Vista Final, based on everything we hear about it. It just had to be re-branded for all the bad rep Vista earned.

Daniel,
Unfortunately Vista is the OS sold on all consumer PC's not made my Apple. It does not have a home vs. corporate version.
Listen to yourself: group policies, master images, knowledge of OS: the individual - or small business - user does not know anything about these. Nor do they have an IT department.
For all I know you may be perfectly right - I am simply not qualified to judge Vista's merits for corporate IT. All I know is it's a complete disaster for individual users.

in Windows Live FolderShare No Longer Strictly P2P? on Zoli's Blog
Justin,
I didn't.. in fact I am now in the sorry state of having 3 apps instead of one: Live Mesh, Syncplicity and Mozy, because not one of them met all the requirements.
Like you stated, there's no documentation about encryption on Live Desktop, so I am only using Live Mesh locally - which we now know MS recommends Live Sync for.
Syncplicity has encryption, but they won't let you pick your key, so acccess to your files is a matter of signing in through any browser. I know, it's a balancing atct between convenient features and security... nevertheless, I don't keep my private documents there. Using if mostly for photos and other stuff.
Finally I still use Mozy for backing up important documents I really want to safeguard with a private encryption key.
This is pretty bad, one app should take care of this all....

Justin, I switched to Live Mesh some time ago, and am still puzzled why MS offers both Live Sync and Live Mesh.

in My Move from Blogware to Wordpress on Zoli's Blog
Jackie,
If you only need the very basics, wordpress.com is probably the way to go, because it's hard to get a better deal than free:-)
But if you do want a blog with the customization flexibility, it's hard to think of a provider with better support and easier conversion than what John provides.

in Netbooks or Notebooks? It’s Not Only About Size. on Zoli's Blog
@Owen,
I enjoyed the weight and size of the Acer for my last conference trip, but I am discovering the screen is a bit too small. It's not so much size, i.e. 8.9" or 10", but the vertical resolution: all netbooks stop at 600, which is not that bad just for browsing, but when you don't find the action buttons on input forms, that's a pain.
What really bothers me is the wi-fi performance: drops the connection a lot, and even when it's working, way slower than other, older systems side by side. I'm not seeing complains about it, so perhaps I have a defective unit.

@Kevin, agree, in fact wrote about it here. But that’s a future vision, here we're discussing what's available today.
Ian, I have 3 computers with Live Mesh and Syncplicity installed, they are slowing them all down and none work perfectly. Then there's Mozy, Antivirus and a bunch more... I don't need all that crap on the Netbook.
Also, since the Netbook is my travel computer, I'd rather not have data on it for security reasons.

I lot changed since I wrote this over a year ago. Both Disqus and Intense Debate added features, and I believe support exporting your comments back to the blog directly, should you wish to stop using them.
