I'm bummed about the statue...I thought I read that they were going to show the front side of the statue before the end of Season 5. Guess Darlton changed their minds...

I was a bit tiffed about the Libby thing but if it really isn't important to the story then fine, its done. But what I don't get is why Rose and Bernard and Vincent for that matter are so (much more) important than a character like Libby. Maybe its just a difference of opinions.

Don't get me wrong though, I love Rose and Bernard and their story but I just never found their story as interesting as Libby's I suppose.

This is gonna be one intense episode. I'm not liking the whole bomb thing though...something about it feels forced and frustrating. If this does end up being the incident I'm going to be sad...I was hoping it was gonna be Miles and Baby Miles getting too close.

If Juliet's dead, I've given up all hope for the women of Lost. Sagasta's right, she was the only female to get anything important done (Kate and her indecisiveness, Claire and her MIAness and Sun and her doing nothingness). Her character can't be finished. I hope.

I really thought both episodes were truly incredible. I thought BYL set the time travel thing up perfectly, and it wasn't just explained away by a character. It was shown... beautifully.

And The Lie... I had lowered expectations because of the reviews, but I really thought it was one of the more powerful character episodes. The scene with Hurley and his mom, and the one with Sun and Kate, and Ben telling Jack he's never coming back... wow.

And then that ending... what a different, interesting Ben. This story is big... bigger than we ever thought.

And to top it all off, the scenes for next week looked incredible too. Lost is back.

Are we assuming that Faraday was born on the island? It makes sense, given his special "gift" for numbers, and the fact that Eloise didn't look too much older when child-Daniel was playing piano at the beginning?

If this is the case, then all three of the freigher scientists were born on the island, and two of them have since died. I wonder if Miles is next... and what it means that these last few children born on the island are dieing, along with all the unborn children that come after them.

This uncited essay's conclusions are simply drawn from other known philosophies which have been around for centuries. I see nothing novel in your approach to the topic of the spiritual or material existence of God. I really have to laugh at this article's attempt to make any valid point regarding this subject.

No matter the arguments made even in a well cited 100,000 page essay, no valid conclusion could be drawn on this topic. Why? Simply because human beings cannot elevate their minds to the degree necessary to see or understand God...it is impossible. Thus the irony, one shall never prove nor disprove the reality or existence of a God, to anyone but themselves...for each of us exists in our own personal reality.

It is a futile topic to address, because any "conclusions" are purely speculative, and personal assumptions made based upon one's own perspective.

Good luck with which came first, the chicken or the egg as well. I look forward to your lackluster attempt at addressing that connundrum as well.

I don't think Dr. Williams was being fair. His ideas about "good intentions" clearly are coming from Milton Friedman, who's ideas have been undercut by recent reality. This was one of the major talking points during the Regan revolution of the 80's on limited government.

The fact is that urban poverty has more to do with deindustrialization and capital flight to developing countries. To blame the "War on Poverty" for the problems in these communities in unfair. You may argue that they were largely ineffective, but indeed the source of these problems was not these policies. "Voluntary cooperative action" through markets is what has caused the current economic crisis and worsened the conditions of the black urban underclass.

I get calls from this number randomly, sometimes twice a day, sometimes only twice per week. They never leave a message, and if I answer I rarely hear anybody say anything. I think one time I heard a recording click on but I couldn't even understand what the woman's voice was saying. It's just plain annoying.

Well, if I could play the devils advocate for a moment, perhaps they are covering less of the shootings in hopes to not "shine light" on the act. If another would-be shooter starts thinking that there's glory in this, and he can get attention for it, he might go on with it.

I know when I worked for a local ABC affiliate, we made it a point to cover as little of the bomb threats as possible. If the guy who makes those threats sees it on TV, he might get excited and want to continue.
