I don't know if its complete nonsense i think it was launched to showcase that google is on top of this industry and aware of its potential - hence in the process of developing for it.

Government will have to introduce some kinds of privacy regulations in general - these companies like Facebook and Google are gaining too much information on us - as does Microsoft.

I think its a slippery slope when the advertisements start to become that personalized. I mean look at how much manipulation is already done if a marketer can get info on where you live or a couple of things you like - it becomes an opportunity bombard someone.

As we move forward, Facebook and other social networking sites need to find a way to make sure that advertisements are not a bombardment, rather a compliment to the user experience. I think this is the only disadvantage to how everyone is getting so excited about Facebook, which is that the market is not mature enough yet - we don't know if social networking is the big thing to monetize, even though we can agree the premise is intriguing.

I would say no - but yes at the same time. I think the future of the web is much bigger than Facebook even though it is a specific platform with some great momentum.

I think when you look at the potential of facebook and the international market it gets huge. The only thing I'd wonder, however, is how much dominance Facebook will have on the international markets. A lot of the times we find that countries develop their own cultural portals, however like Microsoft I think Facebook will have a clear social networking dominance worldwide.
