in Regator.com steals our brand - coincidence? on Justin Hartman
Hmmm, can you believe it. Seems a bit ridiculous, and although we can make a lot of noise locally, I think that the point needs to be brought to the attention of the international market in some big way.
Good luck with the lawyers, gents. It's worth the fight!

in FriendFeed, Pulse, Jaiku: where the conversation is moving on Paul Jacobson
Interesting take, Paul. I haven't used the others in any major way, and recently posted on my confusion as to why Twitter is as popular as it is - Is Twitter the best web 2.0 concept ever devised?
I look forward to the time when there is one central place where all conversation takes place, but considering the constantly changing and adapting web universe, chances are good we'll never see that day, as there will always be something new to try.
After reading this, I might just try those other ones though.

Agree with Tertia - well written - a strong standpoint on what will increasingly become a sensitive issue in corporate SA.

in What sort of message is this? on Justin Hartman
I used to have great respect for PnP but these recent moves are rather strange. Its really amusing reading about all these takes on their new image.
Now for step 2 - Afrigator report [the one you mentioned] on all the talk about it in the blogosphere. Even if PnP won't pay for it [doesn't fit into the R110m budget, I guess], but I'm sure there are many other companies who would gladly pay just to learn from their mistakes. I think they'd be silly not to.

in Good to see everyone at the 27 Dinner on Paul Jacobson
Was good to meet you there Paul, albeit we met in the darkness. At least it was a 27 that everyone will remember, and made us all appreciate the light that much more. Hope to see you around and chat again.

Man, this type of thing hits deep - so sorry, for his family and all those affected [including yourselves]. I'm always pushing SA too and I love this place - but when it hits so close to home its a different story.
As for hope - if we don't have hope, we don't have anything, so I certainly won't give up on that [its when things seem hopeless that we need it most], and I trust you can be a pillar of strength to those affected in this time, and help restore their hope [not easy I know]!
Stay strong!

in Time to rethink what I’m doing here on Justin Hartman
Well, Justin. What can I say - its all been said here already. Thursday's chat will be good with this in mind. Looking forward to seeing you again! There's a time to trust that all things work out for the greater good, but that also involves us doing some work inside ourselves too inbetween all that going on. Looks like you've been doing your homework, sir. Perhaps I can share one small thing I've learned while trying to do my homework - as productive as a person is when they're putting their 'all' into projects and work, its amazing how you can be more effective in those things [even putting in less time and effort] when the things that really matter in life are cast in stone in your heart. Stay strong!

in Anaesthesia for my 4 year-old son? on Justin Hartman
Hi Justin.
I see you already have tons of advice here, but I'll add my 2 cents anyway. My son went for grommets at about 2 and then for tonsils out at 3 or 4 - both times were quite scary even though these are "routine". He's now 5 and happy and healthy. You said it perfectly yourself - just need faith to carry you through, I know that's all that got me through it [yeah - losing control - funny how just the thought of it takes such a toll]. We'll pray for you and your family!
