in noodad » When Should Your Kids Stop Seeing You Naked? on Noodad
Stop it tomorrow....

I guess when they learn that your privates are well, private.
If your kids feel uncomfortable seeing you naked by responding with an \"Eeeeewww.\" Then maybe you should put on the boxer shorts.

I knew I wasn\'t crazy.
I knew it.
Guys have MEN-strational cycles as well.

My ex cheerleading coach (a straight State trooper) told me that men had periods to a \"certain extent\"...certain extend my behind.

I knew it...just knew it.
So that\'s to explain the hissy fits and immeasurable need to cuddle.

in noodad » Strollers on Escalators: Your Laziness Could Kill Your Kid on Noodad
Thanks for posting that.
I always take the kiddie up the escalator because in our mall (Our Idiot stupid mall) there is ONE elevator that is about the size of a closet and FOUR escalators.
So I\'d have to walk all the way onto the other side of the mall, wait in line, and PRAY that my stroller fits into the elevator along with the two teenagers making out in the corner.
But taking the elevator would be worth it so my little darlin\' isn\'t missing any body parts when she gets older.

in noodad » Why You Shouldn’t Watch American Idol with a 4 Year Old on Noodad
Paula was at her best dancing with that cartoon fox in the \"Opposites Attract\" video and you all know it.
That dancing fox was awesome.

American Idol represents what a lot of people are doing to their children...there\'s a lot of \"Me! Me! I\'m special! My mediocrity is SPECIAL!\"
But every now and then you see someone who is in touch with reality, even though they have a terribly harsh sense of it and that person is Simon.

Where\'s Taylor Hicks?
Doing Just For Men commercials last I heard.
And Ruben Studdard\'s working for Subway now.
Just Kidding.

in noodad » What’s better for bathroom training: potty or toilet? on Noodad
I agree! Why go through all the extra steps of cleaning and disinfecting a little plastic pot of poop and pee when you could have just flushed it in the first place?

There\'s nothing cooler to little kids than being able to use the \"Big Girl\" or \"Big Boy\" potty-add the toilet seat and step of their choice, some Baby/Kandoo wipes, and call it a day!

in noodad » Do kids really need so many scheduled activities? on Noodad
I don\'t think too many scheduled activities are good for kids. Why such a strict schedule? The lack of family time and the frazzled parents should be enough to want to have only one or two events two week for the kids.

in noodad » Is it okay to breastfeed in public? on Noodad
Of course it is ok to breastfeed in public...and if someone has a problem, they can look else where.
It\'s totally natural-it\'s the most natural thing in the world, in fact...

I breastfed in public-I\'m modest so I covered up...but if you don\'t want to cover up, fine..it\'s your boob and your baby.

It isn\'t porn, it isn\'t indecent, it isn\'t gross...

You have the problem. Not me.
So I tell them to get over it.

in noodad » Understanding Bras and Thongs on Noodad
My boyfriend says, \"Don\'t forget, it\'s ok to be a little uncomfortable if the other person likes it...it can be an every now and then thing.\"
And that\'s fine. I totally agree with him...ESPECIALLY since he said he would wear a speedo for me every now and then since I like them on men so much.
I have thongs b/c I don\'t like for my granny panties to make a cameo through my pants or show though my jeans. So yeah, sometimes, every once is a eon, I will wear the least uncomfortable version of thong that I can find. And even if they\'re uncomfortable, they don\'t stay on for long.
Any other time, I stick to they type of underwear that I think is sexier and comfortable-the boycut short.
And before anyone starts getting all \"What\'s the big deal about thongs?\" I highly suggest that they buy a pair and wear them.

in noodad » Sick Kid Etiquette: When to Cancel, Keep, and Reschedule Plans on Noodad
I\'ve heard many different versions from various parents and nurses about green and yellow snot...some say that when the snot is clear, the kid isn\'t contagious...and when it\'s yellow or green, it is contagious. I am not sure of the exact rule of thumb on this one...I only have one baby and she doesn\'t go to daycare, so I\'m not well versed in colds and stuff...she did recently catch a cold (that spread to me) from a cousin who does go to daycare...I never made it a priority to check the color of his snot, so I\'m still not sure about all of this. Can anyone set the record straight?

in noodad » When Should Kids Get a Cell Phone? on Noodad
In a perfect world, I\'d let my kid have a cell phone when she started driving/dating...and that would be when I crawled into a hole and died...
BUT all joking aside, I\'d let her have a cell phone when she shows that she is responsible enough to have one...that comes around the same time that I am able to drop her and some friends off at the mall and places similar to that for a couple of hours. I\'d guess that would be around the middle school mark.
We\'d make it clear that certain calls and texting should never exceed a certain amount and the cellphones w/free night and weekends starting at seven would be an extra help in keeping the bill from stratosphere amounts.
However, is she were to go over her alloted minutes/amounts, we\'d take the phone away and she wouldn\'t get it back until she paid the excess that she put on the bill.
No cell...no go outtie with the friends.
Too bad so sad, shouldn\'t have crossed the line. There are consequences to all of your actions...
Oh, and course, we\'d teach her proper cell phone etiquette.

in noodad » Is it okay to spoil your kid on his or her birthday with a big party? on Noodad
I guess if you have the money, some folks would want to spoil their kids with a gigantic party.
Me personally, I wouldn\'t want to. I think a simple party with some friends, cake, and ice cream is plenty. I honestly don\'t think that the kid will even remember or appreciate the huge party that you would give them.
My daughter is going to have two first birthday parties. Her grandmother wants to throw her one with all of her family and we are choosing to do a smaller, simpler one at our home with some friends and delicious food.
Our daughter isn\'t going to remember her first birthday parties let alone give a crap about some creppy clown making crappy balloon animals.

in noodad » How Close Should Siblings Be? on Noodad
I say wait a few years. I\'d even go so far as to wait about four years, that way, you\'re not paying for college at the same time, they\'ll be at different grade levels so the teachers will forget about one hellion before it\'s sibling gets there, and you\'re not having to change diapers at double time. My mom had my sister and I 14 months apart-that means she got pregnant again when I was about five months old. There wasn\'t even time for the hemorrhoids to heal from the first baby before she got pregnant with the second.
Also, and my boyfriend calls this the \"evil genius theory\", before too long, the older of the siblings can babysit the younger 1 or 2. FREE BABYSITTING! WOOT WOOT! It doesn\'t get better than that, folks.

in noodad » Is it OK to Spank Your Kid? on Noodad
I\'ve received everything from the hand to the \"go outside to that tree and pick out a switch.\" I was one of those kids that a serious talk would work for, on the other hand, I have cousins that are in dire need of a couple of hands to the bottom. I\'d say that spanking is ok. Beating is not ok. I\'ve always read that the key is to discipline rather than punish. I guess what parents would want to achieve with the spanking is that what the child did was wrong and they want for the child to remember that their action was wrong. I would also say not to spank/discipline your child while you\'re angry or still upset. That makes it easy to take things a little too far and forget why you are spanking in the first place. Our plan to discipline our child is to try the \"naughty corner\" and if our child turns out to not be suitable for a \"naughty corner\" then we will spank our child, and afterwards we will have the serious discussion as to what the child did wrong, why it was wrong, and in effect, why they received the spanking.
Bottom line: spanking can be used as a tool for discipline. Beating is abuse and won\'t really teach your kids anything except for it\'s ok to lash out violently when angry.

in noodad » The Must-Have Toy Chase: Do Whatever it Takes or Avoid at All Costs? on Noodad
I would totally say to wait until January. If every other kid on the block has the latest and greatest video game console, then your kid could just play with theirs. Toys don\'t measure the amount of love that you have for your children. If you even wait to December 26, your kid wouldn\'t really be missing out on anything. BE PREPARED suggests that you start a little tradition called the New Year\'s Panda. The Panda will deliver the Wii along with New Year\'s greetings! Woot woot.

in noodad » Is getting your baby’s ears pierced an act of child abuse? on Noodad
Piercing ears is not abuse. For those of you who have had your ears pierced at a young age, you may agree with me.
I got my ears pierced when I was four. I was rewarded with a slushee. The slushee was all that I remember. When my folks did it, it was more of a cultural thing.
My parter is from a very American and very Conservative family. They think that ear piercings are a sign of adulthood and if a girl had her ears pierced too young she may be \"loose\" or wild or something.
This is something that is either cosmetic or cultural.
It\'s not that big of a deal for people to get heated over.
It\'s not abuse.
It\'s just a matter of personal parental choice.
