in Private: B&H Selling A Rare Used Canon 1200mm f/5.6 Lens For Just $120,000 on OhGizmo!
I know the article in the B&H newsletter says the used lens is being sold for 99k, but the 120,000 one is also listed under the Used Equipment section of their site. So I'm a bit confused to be honest.

Maybe the 99k one still smells like beer.

in Private: First Look At The GigaPan Epic on OhGizmo!
Yes, there's no reason it couldn't do that to get a rough grid of images gathered. The time difference between series of shots is more than long enough for the software to make an intelligent guess as to where a series begins and ends. However, you'd still have to go in and weed out duplicate shots anytime you had to do re-takes during a shoot, which was every time for us.
As it stands the GigaPan Stitcher software is definitely pretty basic right now, and there's plenty of room for improvement and polish.

Yeah, but then you end up with pebbles, cigarette butts and blasting caps mixed in there.

in Private: Fast Finger Keyboards For You Hunt & Peck Types on OhGizmo!
As I understand it (though I could be wrong) the original QWERTY layout was designed specifically for typewriters, as it kept the most used characters spaced out on the keyboard to help reduce jams inside the typewriter. Or at least that's what DVORAK supporters use to claim the superiority of their layout, since QWERTY was apparently designed to slow typists down.

Yeah, I was gonna say. There was nothing cooler at CES this year than the 2 or 3 guys who were riding Segways all over the place.

This is actually an updated version of their RollerMouse Pro product, and from what I saw this version has a considerably wider scroll bar.

Oh we're not denying the legitimacy of the company or the product, we're just nitpicking the oddly Photoshopped product shots. They couldn't have just taken a photo of a real piece of toast that came out of this thing?

Not only do the toast images look shopped, but the entire family huddled around the toaster looks pretty fake too.

You are correct. And there was no pun intended, just poor spelling.

Ah I see. I probably should have done a bit more homework on what that standard actually was. I was just 'paraphrasing' from the Laptop Magazine review, not that I'm pointing the finger or anything.
Thanks for the heads up.

in 3-Axis Bubble Level Keeps Your Camera Straight on OhGizmo!
A 'decent tripod' would most definitely have levels built into the base and the head, so no matter where you set it up, you could ensure the camera was perfectly level.

I don't deny that the t-shirt contest didn't exactly go down as smooth as we had hoped. But it was not something I had a hand in, and as a result I refrained from commenting on the situation whatsoever. So I'm not entirely sure where you read any comments from me bagging on any of the entries. I can assure you I do not want to incur the wrath of your headscratching posse.

Still, though. You have to admit that Jimbo is a total chode

Huh? This can somehow be construed as a review? While I may not be a welder, I know for a fact that some of our readers are, which is why I chose to write about it and bring it to their attention. It's not like I even say anything bad about it either. To quote Towely "I have no idea what's going on."

Yeah, I figured I'd get a few comments like this. And not that I need to defend my position, since it's just MY opinion, but I'm an avid gamer who has pretty much played (and enjoyed) anything of note since GoldenEye 007 was released. But I noticed that you failed to mention your favorite game so that other people could have a chance to point out why you're wrong.

Actually I think Nathir is right. Looking more closely at the clock face there seems to be 7 years separating the numbers instead of just 5. (Even though there are only 5 sub-ticks.)
