Hi Paul,

Thanks for the link. A good extension of what I had in mind in my original post.

"Rugby, at least to the uninformed me, seems to have a strong commercial and political undercurrent and it is very much a case of eat or be eaten."

Truer words have seldom been spoken, especially in political ridden South African sports.

You seen to think though that I have a pessimistic view of the manner in which he achieved his success. On the contrary, I think it is genius. But I do feel that his strategy resembles a lot of what he blames SA rugby of doing.

The big difference of course lies in his achievements. His actions spoke much louder than his words. That is more than we can say of SA Rugby management and their political desire to destroy the only thing we as South Africans have going for us.

in Microsoft wins Facebook bid? Here’s the insider scoop on why… on Scobleizer
Raoul, don't you just hate the permanence of web entries? There are way too many people out there who simply cannot and will not agree with your statement.

Do you really believe the Facebook "hype" came about through the work of journalists? Or do you reckon it is such a multileveled platform that people from a diverse perspective of life choose to engage with it?

Just because you see no value in the platform, does that justify that the presumed billions to be spent on it is ridiculous? Have a bit of objectivity mate.

For every one person that feels the way you do, there are ten that totally disagree. (stats made up on the spot byt the way)

Where do you ash? I don't see any trays...

Are they trying to tell us something by not putting ash trays there?

I actually like the logo. Different strokes for different folks innit?

When I look at my laptop with programming eyes the apps uninstall themselves.

Well done!

I don't see the problem here:

9:25: got into office (reasonable time, dont see a problem)
9:26: touched Gregor’s leg (why wouldn't he??? Greg is fab! isn't he?)
9:35: got coffee (that's normal for smokers)
9:36: gone smoking (that's normal for smokers too)
10:00: on phone with Colin (this seems out of place a bit)
10:08: got coffee, forced Gregor to go with (Greg's the one with the legs right?)
10:09: had another smoke (normal for smokers)
10:11: watched Vincent on Sky news (don't have the legs, sure, but he has airtime!)
10:20: surfed www.powergenitalia.com (normal for smokers and steroid users)
10:21: made Gregor translate some german porn email (Greg seems to have it all!)
10:21: phone plummer… (normal for www.powergenitalia.com surfers)

All that before lunch!!!! good work mate. Have the rest of the day off.

Colin, back to work.

in Is Facebook a Waste of Time? on AllFacebook
If productivity and networking is your way of fun then Facebook is the ultimate social and business tool.

If you're easily sucked into the addictiveness of social interactivity, then companies are doing the right thing by at least policing the user behaviour and access.

Smart companies know how to make Facebook and the likes work for them.

However, purely business oriented, Linked-In is tops.
