in Linky Goodness, May 23 on Marketing Pilgrim
I downloaded the AOL data once, and worked around with it, doing some statistics and whatnots... however 95% of the data or so was for english based queries, and the rest for all other languages... Since my target market is spanish based, that data proved useless to me... but I know many have profited greatly from that blunder... ;)

in dnScoop says dnScoop.com not really worth anything on The Marketing Technology Blog
Interesting enough, I went to dnscoop, and my site is worth $64,480 according to them. If I take that number and divide it by the site's income, that's roughly what I'll make in 2.5 years if current conditions prevail (which I'm sure will continue to improve). But it's a nice guess that helps you evaluate your site better. Any buyers??? ;)

in Splog Your Way to a Higher Technorati Rank? on The Marketing Technology Blog
Hi. Visited the Splog Reporter website. Although a nifty idea (they even have a firefox extension), I couldn't find anywhere on the site any of the following:
- how to use their lists
- how to integrate their lists into an application
- how to unban an incorrectly perceived domain
- who do they report this information to
- what company/search engine/someone uses the information they "provide"

So in essence, past from being a "good idea", it's basically useless. At least that's my current perception...

Douglas Karr Hi Luis,

Hopefully they are listening! I have noticed a reduction in Splogs being identified by Technorati - so I'm curious if some of the ranking engines are subscribing to SplogReporter to filter their engines. I agree with you!

in The Wall: Web 2.0 Standard Feature, or Infringing Use? — Elliott C. Back on Elliott Back's Blog
My guess is, they are either:

1) Really, really popular...
2) Both sites belong to the same owner, and he forgot to change the themes...
