If she was not with illegal immigrants.

If she had not been in a car with a looney who drove at a cop.

She would be in perfect health.

But she did what she did and she took a risk, and that risk came back, and bit her on the ass.

Here's another conservative value you forgot.

Actions have consequences.

She now has to deal with those same consequences.

And all she had to do was apply legally to immigrate to the US.

Illegal immigration is a process crime, not a violent crime. It does not require vengeance

The number of crimes committed by illegal immigrants,including beheadings, murders, drugs, prostitution, slavery yto name a few are LEGION.

Were they not in the US illegally,the crimes would not have been committed. Those crimes include the death of a Marine just back from Iraq.

We need our immigration population working above board, being monitored, paying taxes, and not based on some arbitrary number pulled out of some Congressman’s hind end to define the proper level of the immigrant worker population.

Then let them come LEGALLY. What part of this escapes you?

Allow me to put in perspective: A woman was shot in the head for committing the “crime” of coming here without permission, “to work“.

No, she sustained an injury whilst being an accessory before, during, and after the fact of the commission of a felony, to wit, illegal entry to the United States and attempted murder of a police officer, said officer being at that time in the legal execution of his duties.

The attempt to pretend the crime committed is irrelevant to the treatment and punishment of those who have committed the “crime” of coming here to work, is pathetically lame.

She was a willing party to the commission of a felony.Hence she was injured, not shot in the head during this time.

Had she entered the US by legal means, said shooting would not have taken place.

It is neither moot nor irrelevant, it is however an indication of just how poorly some understand what it means to be a conservative.

You seem not to understand the concept of not breaking the law by not entering the US illegally. In case it had escaped you, some countries don't bother with trials or detention.

And on the subject, go lecture Mexico on ITS immigration laws.

The attempt by you to pretend that the law is the measure of morality, instead of morality being the measure of the law, is a distinctly Liberal mindset.

The law IS a measure of morality in that it rewards certain behaviour and punishes other forms of said behaviour.

Enter the US legally and you have a great time. Enter illegally and risk being shot.

Seems simple to me.

Oh and here is the law to help illustrate the point.

Under Title 8 Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, "Improper Entry by Alien," any citizen of any country other than the United States who:

* Enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or
* Eludes examination or inspection by immigration officers; or
* Attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false or misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact;

Has committed a federal crime.

Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison. Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature of the offense.

Not really.

The penalty for rape varies from state to state.

The statute in question is a Federal one. Personally, I'm for building the wall and throwing out every last illegal.

Erect a sign at the border.

Trespassers will be shot.Survivors will be shot again.

Works for me..it also seems to work for Mexico...but I dont see you excoriating them about their DRACONIC immigration laws...oh yeah, I forgot.

Nothing's a crime, unless it was committed by the United States.

Good grief Sonnabend, the crime rate among the illegal community is as a percentage is less than in the general population as a whole, look it up.

Yet had they not been there to commit those crimes the statistics would be lower.
