I kind of wish some of my members would have been "fraudulent" during the nomination period to get me a free ride to the final round. Squeaky wheel gets the oil?

Oh well...good luck to the sites moving on!

Adam Hirsch Sorry CSamarin, the votes were all tabulated in the end removing any "fradulent" votes. All results have been tallied and "Double IP Votes" were removed from the final tally.Vizu did a great job of analyzing the votes and tabulated everything properly and accordingly.

As for Vizu, they accidentally set the polls to close at 11:59 pm and not am, therefore, you might see some discrepancies from there. I assure you the correct numbers are pulled and they are doing a final triple check as I write this with all of your concerns.

Looks like I have some tough competition in my category.

Just being nominated was an honor!

NOMINATION - SwitchPlanet - Niche and Miscellaneous Social Networks - http://www.switchplanet.com/

SP is a social media trading network where members use their current media collection (DVDs, CDs, Games, Books) to get new stuff they want by selling what they have for our internal currency 'switchbucs' that they use to buy/request the things they want from other members. It's free to use and has a social network backbone to help keep traders connected.

SwitchPlanet.com is going places!

I've used it for some time now and it's a great resource to trade DVDs, CDs, Games, and Books with a social network.

So do nominations go here or do we wait for the category that we want to nominate a site for to be in a separate blog post?

Because SwitchPlanet.com needs a mention! :)
Adam Hirsch Please wait till the appropriate category post is out. Also, please check around the blog partners to see if they released certain categories yet.

Thanks for the mention, but not the right place ;)

You forgot SwitchPlanet.com

Much easier to just trade your books for free with other students rather then dealing with cash transactions and fees...not to mention the chance of getting scammed.

Toss in the ability to trade an out of date textbook to acquire some new dvds, cds or games is nice too!

Founder of SwitchPlanet.com here and regular Mashable reader.

Thanks for the coverage!

The "online swap" market seems to be growing every day and it's great to see all these different options for people to choose from. Based on feedback from our own users most of them use more then 1 so more options is a good thing.

It's a young market, not many searches on Google for 'trade dvds' or 'trade games', but it's growing...and the people that do find out about it are getting pretty addicted! At least that's what we're seeing with our members on the forums, creating groups and building their friends lists.

I think it's a little earlly to be jumping on funding for this market (lala, peerflix) so those who have stayed small and lean I think have better chances of sticking around.

Something I've noticed with Facebook is that the small time programmer building a widget that has nothing to do with ANYTHING else besides Facebook are having the most success.

It's not looking like we will see a YouTube come out of the Facebook open book but instead small acquisitions of small apps build just for Facebook where an outside site just wants to buy those eyes using the app to then promote what they have off of Facebook.

A small time programmer could make a nice chunk of change if they built something interesting enough to get viral on Facebook...didn't someone create the "Superpoke" or something like that and it already has millions of members using it???

WOW, I really like these guys but what the heck is all the money for???

I'm guessing they're going to poor most of it into marketing.

College students are cash strapped people. Buying and selling for cash limits them.

Now switching their items for free at switchplanet.com, that makes more sense and I think would be welcomed by the Facebook community.

Any college student that wants to sell something for cash is better off going to Craigslist and probably still will even with this Oodle integration.

Would love a partner like this but I guess we will just have to keep growing on our own: http://alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details?u...

cheers,
Chris
