Interesting stuff, it certainly lends itself to more rapid updating, as everything from the sites you interact with is displayed here.

Say for example though you upload a large set of pictures to Flickr and you don't want them all to display here, is there any way to filter or mask them out? I mean do you only display pictures with a certain tag?

I'd also suggest you move the comment box below the comments, as at first glance you could assume there are no comments..when in fact there are - they are just below.

Threaded commenting is however a valuable addition.

I like where this is going anyway.

Should be faultless if you stick to stable repository, you won't get the latest versions though but the system will be secure for all intensive purposes (security patches are back-ported to older versions).

Heh I was the same at school, I guess I'm the same at work too...I prefer ROWE (results only work environment) rather than imposing 8 hours of attendence a day.

Why be there from 9-5 if you do shit work if you can be there less and do more.

Same went for school, I got some of the highest grades in the country for science that year.

I used to argue with teachers a lot too, mostly because they made mistakes..

Yah definitely better to tell the truth, as long as it's impartial not plain bashing.

I also had the same problem with the education system when I came here, I hate holding training here it's so boring because no one asks questions, no one challenges me..

It's just me talking endlessly....and praying for reciprocation occasionally, my only respite is when there is a westerner in the training sadly.

At least you'll get a feeling of how I feel in Malaysia, I'm also not just me, I'm also white and British.

That looks like some wicked authentic Malaysian food too, not the usual trash sold abroad.

3. Not particularly an American card, but Malaysian cards generally aren't accepted by online retailers due to the high level of fraud here. Just get a Debit card anyway, Visa Debit is better then a credit card.

Also 3. Just call them up, if it's like UK you have to enable International abilities on your account. It's not on by default.

8. Yes please do tip well!

9. Get yourself a pepper spray and take some female self-defence classes - it'll teach you situational awareness which is the MOST important factor when it comes to personal safety. If you feel threatened get the pepper spray in one hand and your keys in the other hand. GOUGE EYES AND SPRAY!

It doesn't say virus, it just rejects because it can't check inside the zip, Gmail is using a similar system as it scans recursively inside compressed files.

Say if you try and send an .exe inside a .zip it will reject.

I personally prefer the triangular blocking of Wing Chun, but then it takes some practise.

I wouldn't go for the knees either, prefer a sharp kick to the knee-cap or ankle joint.

I'd like to see a female do the second move under real pressure though, like you mentioned in your post.

Interesting article, I'm using a Raynor ErgoHuman chair - which is very similar to the Aeron but a lot cheaper!

Comes in both leather and mesh, I'm not sure if you can get in the US though as it seems a lot more popular in Asia.

I've been using it for a while, mostly because I linked it to Facebook and it auto-updates my status there.

So it kills 2 birds with one stone, I also put it in my blog sidebar so when I don't update at least there's something new to see. That's what Microblogging is about for me.

I find yours a very effective but non-personal way of using Twitter, which fits your lifestyle and ethos.

Yah there are a few different kind of chopsticks too, SE Asia and most regions of China use chopsticks touch at the ends when held together so you can use the lazy/scissor method.

But Japanese and Korean chopsticks tend to be more pointed and don't meet at the ends when held together so you need proper technique.

Korean chopsticks are even worse as they are generally metal and slightly flattened, so they are tough to pick up slippery things with.

Heh good work dude, I should have blogged about this before seen as though everyone using adsense now..

It makes a huge difference, also if you want to get granular, you can see which ads pay higher and block all the low low ads thus increasing your average click through value.

I did this on http://www.security-forums.com before we got full sponsorship and it made a lot of difference.

IMHO Mirror and Alternate URL mean slightly different things too, alternate URL would just be another domain/sub-domain that points to the same server as before, same data, same location. Mirror would be the data replicated elsewhere and would also imply it might not be 100% up to date in real-time. Just my understanding anyway.

The problem is nytimes etc can all run distributed caching services for dns round robin configs with companies like akamai.

There's no local equivalent...the nearest decent caching services to us are in Japan and that just don't cut the mustard.

I have to disagree with a couple of things, AFAIK Facebook is now bigger, Friendster was by far the biggest in SE Asia region but now Hi5 has taken over Thailand, Myspace is pretty big and Facebook is huge here now.

Also as for Twitter, most people don't send via SMS, they send via an app like Twibble with minimal data charges. And basically free for those with unlimiated packages.

Plus many use it from the web interface as a micro-blogging tool rather than a mobile update.

The N82 is the best camera out there so far, partially due to the xenon flash.

The N96 camera is definitely inferior to the N95 in terms of the button/ergonomics. But I'm sure the speed and quality will improve with newer firmware.

The N95 took quite a long time to get into a stable state.

Hmm I think it's a great idea, but IMHO 9am would be too early for most web types - me included.

Perhaps brunch :D Or afternoon tea (the void between lunch and dinner).

I'll be waiting for the Nokia N97 :) IMHO it's still better to stick with an iPod touch and a decent phone.

Plus the Maxis plans just price most people out the market.

Yah since attending the Digi Broadband launch, my interest has piqued in their service.

I'll be waiting to see when they come out with a integrated 3G data + GSM voice plan.

14.4MB HSPA service, but they are aiming for 2MB down at least at all times.

I tested it and got 4MB down from Europe and both East/West coast US.

The upload speed was slow though about 200k/s.

The network isn't loaded yet though so we'll have to wait and see, I'll be interested when they come out with an integrated plan.

Just a few points from my experience.

I prefer Firefox, you can customise the layout and remove the top toolbar, then pull down the windows bar at the bottom and F11 for full screen.

AVG is the worst free antivirus, I recommend BitDefender or my personal favourite so far Avast!.

More RAM definitely helps, upgraded the RAM on the eeePC and it's much better. Have used both Linux and Windows on the netbook, both have ups and downs.

Yah password policies are odd things, the more complex you make the requirements and the more often you require users to change their passwords the less secure it becomes.

But then you're supposed to change passwords often enough that someone can't crack them. Then with computational power nowadays that's impractical too.

That's why combining is the best option, at least 2 out of the 3 methods make things more secure (physical token, biometric, password).

BTW you should never public reply @spam with a spammers username, because it will associate you with the spammer in the system. ALWAYS use DM.
