the city of nashville did not know that on this week a great number of bloggers would be dawning on their unsuspecting city... to not prepare for this could lead to bloggers running through the streets with lap tops in hand, praying that they will find a spot that will indeed connect them back to the world ;)

This is encouraging.. I would love to walk into a church that had a great sense of diversity and comunity.

I really respect Mclaren, and what I have found from his books, is usually a gentle way of raising questions, and starting on the journey of discovering things on my own, or leaving it open for me to form my own opinion. I'm thankful for his words, and his willingness to not filter his thoughts, it makes me feel like I can question things and search with out feeling so guilty that i am going against the grain. (hopefully that makes sense)

amen, information overload is dead.

This election left me feeling completely with out a good choice. I sometimes wished that a third person would pop up, and not play the same games. The further that it got into the election, the worse it all got. And on many things every thing started to blur. I think that what is needed, is clear thoughts, clear directions and clear, dare I say it, clear plans.

I started to feel sick every time, either a democrat or republican, threw the words "I have a plan!" "Or, our plan is better". Ok, great, show me, but in the end it was who said they had a plan, better than the other.


Sometimes I think that improvement is not possible under the current political system we have. But that's an entire new set of thoughts.

I am wondering how as the 'congregants' can we encourage pastors to not use the marketing...

And how as citizens we can encourage politicians to not use negativity to win. I think partly it's our responsibility as citizens and congregants, the longer we accept it, the more they (pastors and politicians) will continue to use the same tactics.
