After running the subject he found that
he also had no CDL and no mention of record as a former
diplomat...About ten minutes later he called in that he had taken the
subject in custody (10-15) for DUI....Just then the Watch Commander
got on the radio and asked for the officer to call him by cell
phone...A few minutes after this the officer called in to say that he
would be taking the prisoner to his residence to look for his
diplomatic credentials. About 20 minutes after this the officer called
dispatch and informed them that the subject had found his credentials
and was the former President of Peru. The Watch Commander then came on
and told the officer to just leave him at his residence and go back in
service...see rest of story at http://bobonit-news.blogspot.com/2007/03/former...

Re: Special treatment for Judge Motata

Bobonit news exclusive:
Special treatment for former president of Peru in California.

The former president of Peru Alejandro Toledo was pulled over for drunken driving about 12:30A.M Wednesday morning in Menlo Park.
During traffic stop the officer immediately called in for code 1 cover and informed dispatch he was conducting a field sobriety test...He then told dispatch that his drunk
subject claimed to be the former President of Peru but had no
credentials to support this. They should be confirmed as such not made up!
I can find nothing anywhere to suggest this was a LODD, nor can I find the "Earlier reports" cited.

And No you should not call every FF death a LODD and change later....

My very sincere condolences to family, friends and coworkers...It is still a tragedy and the young man looks so much like my 20 year old FF/EMT son. Arrested for what? Putting out fire on private property?
Actually I believe stay and defend is the trend of the future and is already being practiced in Australia, The embers and small spot fires is what causes most of the structure losses and if you can stay and put out the spots and misc burns you can save the house!
As proven lately firefighters can always use the help during a firestorm. If your able bodied, proper PPE, some tools and hose and common sense can save your house.
And God help anyone that tries to stop me from defending my property I have the right PPE and equipment and would be an asset not a hindrance...I would stay and defend if it can be defended(Clearance) Pre-wetting the house, boarding up windows and openings etc before taking refuge in the structure as the main fire burns by then emerging to tackle the numerous spots. The Dumb asses are people that expect others to protect them instead of protecting themselves.

Re: Don't Forget: Turn It Off

Stations out in California have had the gas shutoff to the kitchen when the Bells ring for over thirty years and still do.
