For # 8, does that go for plugging you baseball blog, too?

I would say yes, unless you are invited on to the show as a guest. Establish a working relationship before doing any plugging. :)

in If Smoltz Walks Out… He’s Taking My Battered and Bloody Heart With Him on The Launching Pad
Not a Braves fan, but I hope he stays for the sake of the game. I LOVE it when players stay their entire career with a single team! But if he does leave, I'd like to see him in Boston. Sorry JB.
BTW, is he looking to start, close or just pitch?

To start. He said it's a lot more stress on his arm to come out of the pen than to start every 5 days.

in Are the Red Sox the Next Evil Empire? on The Launching Pad
They are also a very smart baseball operations team that evaluates talent & has produced a lot of talent from within. See Ellsbury, Pedroia, Youkilis, Lowrie, Lester, Masterson, Delcarmen and Papelbon!
The problem I have with the Yankees of late is that their spending is on hitters rather than ballplayers. They just go out & buy the best hitter they can get with what seems like little regard to how they will conform to the team's chemistry or functionality. Just because you buy a team of all stars, doesn't mean that you'll be the best team on the field every night. They still have to play like a team! The recent Yankee dynasty under Torre had non-all stars like Paul O'Neil, Chuck Knoblock, Tino Martinez, etc. They were blue collar players that overachieved when it really mattered!

I would have voted that the Cubs chocked and the Dodgers are just on fire right now, but that wasn't an option. :-)
