in Tough Times Ahead For The Web? on A VC
Might be a stretch to assume that a soft time for Web 2.0 entrepreneurs would trigger a soft time for the web economy at large, or vice versa. There are a lot of online players that don't need funding (or adsense checks) to make things happen.

Anonymity is an issue. I'd love to see services like OpenID take off to the point where reputation and identity are both handled by credible entities only. Anonymous comments would still be allowed using an "ID key," but there would be a way to trace back to the actual commenter in the case of abuse.

Thanks for the Feed Rinse mention - good stuff. I assumed I was the only one using it to reign in outa control Twittering.

It almost looks like you're suggesting that feed readers will evolve towards exclusive content offerings (ie: go to Rojo for Vox-generated content; go to XYZReader for XYZ Blogging Platform content.) Maybe I'm missing your point, but isn't that model already being served by television?
I'd say that standalone Feed Readers are just getting started. As more and more users recognize they can get all of their news and info at a single destination [their reader,] there's going to be a profound shift towards online news consumption. The user-driven reader is a big part of that.
