in The Problem with the Relational Database (Part 1 ) –The Deployment Model on Tony Bain
Having the first article present severe dissonance between the title and the content does not bode well.

Tony Bain Thanks for your comment. I have no idea what you mean though!

FYI, This is the first article in a series discussing issues to do with RDBMS technology. The first topic in this series is covering how the technology is deployed and the issues associated with doing this in large enterprises.

If I'm not mistaken, millions of people pay monthly fees to gyms to do what this woman is doing for free. Now who's the idiot?

in FriendFeed vs. Facebook on Sociosophy
I gave up on FriendFeed a long time ago because of the interface. I would expect that you will receive a tremendous amount of grief for daring to say what had to be said. The FriendFiends are quite vociferous.

nrek FriendFeed is pretty difficult to navigate and filter. There are Lists and Rooms for seperating content, but all in all, it is way too easy to get too much info, and that kind of UI flubbing will keep FriendFeed from going mainstream. Facebook's new interface is way too darn busy, but the news feed section and left panel on the home page was a great move.

The likeness Facebook's new features has to Twitter and FriendFeed alike shows that they are apying attention at least, now if they can just unclutter the mess they have on the right of the homepage/news feed... all the better.

wizardelite Looking back, I remember a time when FriendFeed first arrived to the scene. Twitter was having major stability issues and everybody from people like Robert Scoble was claiming that Twitter is dead and that Friendfeed was the new player in town.

Moving to present day we see that Twitter and Facebook are more popular than ever and Friendfeed remains in the realm of the early adopters and high level bloggers/social media purists. Why? Because Friendfeed is to hard to use while the others are simple and intuitive to use.

I hope I get heat for my critiques for what I have to say about Friendfeed. Then maybe we can see these companies actually create a decent product. Guess we have to wait till Monday to see.

in User data ownership on Facebook and why it doesn’t matter on Scobleizer
It makes me sad that there will be no original professional content using Facebook as a platform. I was considering using it for a base for my webcomic, but that idea is scrapped.

in Giving Disqus a try on Flip Bits Not Burgers
I'm having a problem with Disqus. I'm on a completely different machine and whatever cookies were making Disqus work great when I signup with my OpenID initially are no longer in play.

Although I can still log into Disqus.com proper with my OpenID, I can't seem to pull that trigger with the same effect on an integrated with Blogger commenting "verify" interface - which seems OpenID unaware.

I simply DON'T want to create a new Disqus password credential, whatever it takes. Any clue what I'm doing wrong?

P.S. I see the trackback to my blog...nice ;)

crisatunity I've started a thread on this question => http://disqus.disqus.com/cant_seem_to_login_wit... however as I write I notice that automagically your blog now knows I'm me, again. However, I didn't authenticate from your blog/comments in any way.

in Acquisition Wednesday on Oracle AppsLab
@Jake: SQL Server is simply too pathetic to be included in any legitimate stack. Wino is partly tongue-in-cheek, but developer laziness in using the inferior product SQL Server is primarily what I see keeping .NET down as a platform.
