in Should I Have Kept It My Dirty Little Secret? on Free Traffic Tips
I'm glad the blabbermouth side won out ;) I've had people asking me how much I use Facebook for business, and I've been meaning to do some research on how to best leverage it for that purpose...as opposed to getting random iced teas and crabs sent to me from people I went to high school with...thanks for sharing :)

in Linking Abuse Or Linking Awareness on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
Wow, really makes you think about the two hours you spent. I did notice the unfortunate wording they used in addition to the lack of link. "maintains links" seems a poor choice considering the topic. I hope they do get back to you and throw a link your way considering the amount of traffic your name is bringing them!
Then again, maybe they'll be seen as a bad neighborhood considering where their links are pointing!
As for the rest of the story...thanks for the link :) What an appropriate section for this particular post! I'm still in a CSS transition period until I can get a few hours to really get things straightened out.
Now, the links are much brighter blue, but not underlined. I think this is a weekend project. I kind of like the red ones though. I might just end up with rainbow colored, underlined flashing links with a little autoplay on hover audio file that says click me, I'm a link ;)

in Social Media Traffic - Is It About Titans Reciprocating? Or Vote Whoring? Or… on Free Traffic Tips
Even if you subscribe to the theory that all social media is I scratch your back, you scratch mine...it seems to me that in order to become a power player in the social media arena, you've got to be creating some amazing content to initially join that club.
And in the somewhat limited time I've been following the moves of the social media allstars, it seems to me that when and if a typical sphinn, digg or stumble darling falters with a post, the people that usually help their posts make it to the top are the same people who are first to question the writer on their post, call them out on a weak argument, etc.

in How Would You Improve Your Blog Or Blogging? on Andy Beard - Internet Business Systems Discussion
I'm excited to see the answers to all of these. Dumb question time though...other than not having access to a reader all day, are there reasons that people would prefer to subscribe via e-mail? I know I need to add the option to my blogs...another to-do list thing, but I've always wondered why you want to receive more e-mail? Just curious...sorry, I probably just blew you "more sophisticated users" theory!

in Are you ‘undervaluing your worth’? on The Savvy Entrepreneur
Another great post Cristina! I know that I too am guilty of this offense.
I would agree though that I don't think this is necessarily a gender issue. Personally, I think it is more a result of anxiety in the beginning phase of a new business. It is very easy to get so caught up in getting those first clients that pricing becomes secondary to having a feeling that your business will be able to get business.

“Accept that most people won’t understand what you do.”
Ha! I've been trying to explain to my 91 year old grandfather for almost a year now what it is that I do! Forget about it!
But seriously, that is one of the most insightful tips I've read in a long time. It's taken me awhile to deal with the fact that because my businesses are completely virtual, and I work from a home office, that doesn't mean that I play on the computer all day or am always available for favors and fun!

in The Golden Rule of SEO on Marketing Pilgrim
A second here, here from me. I constantly read all these articles and blogs about SEO, etc. I certainly won't try to discount the SEO whizzes abilities to get higher SE Rankings and such. BUT, it always puzzles me a bit when I see some of these sites that are at the top of the results and make absolutely no sense. What good is a top ranking site if you completely lose sight of what should be your number one goal...communicating with customers and potential customers!

in Is cold-calling from the Devil? on The Savvy Entrepreneur
Yes! Sorry, I had to say first to be my response to "Is cold-calling from the Devil?!" Gut reaction from past traumatic experiences I suppose. Anyway, I was going to add that I always warm-up cold calls with some form of mailing or e-mail. I usually get new leads via networking though, so if I am making a call (don't know if it's a true cold one) I at least have a point of reference (a mutual friend or colleague).
And in answer to Lia's other comment amount what brings more fear, I would vote for cold-calling! Personally, I am more comfortable speaking to people when I can gage their reactions, etc.
Great Post!

He has found response rate for email to be several times better than RSS, and he has built up an email list now that is 3x the size of his RSS subscribers.
Despite having less subscribers than John Chow by RSS, he got a lot more referrals than John recently for Blogrush.
Having something to give away for free, in exchange for an email address is as important now as it was a few years ago.
Also it is very hard to give RSS subscribers a private bonus because people can always look at the feed but not subscribe
