Fibs always seem to work when I draw them. Unfortunately, they're the last thing I think of when evaluating a trade so I haven't been able to make them work for me consistently.

Should be interesting to see if GOOG, AAPL, and RIMM ever roll over. They've already gone parabolic. I continually find myself routing for a long candle to the downside, slight retracement or consolidation and a crash...got to stop day dreaming.

Interesting charts as always. One question. Any thoughts on platinum? I'm noticing a momentum divergence in the latest runup. Is this a valid momentum divergence? Any analysis is appreciated.

I'd like to think that the triangle broke, but I often just watch a pattern pick a direction and trade the first decent pull back or consolidation. I'm hoping I get the opportunity with this one. One thing that should be interesting to watch is how this triangle behaves now that "everybody" is watching it. I hear it was even mentioned on CNBC!

Guitar Hero and Grand Theft Auto are great franchises. I'm 32 and still play. I would totally agree with your theory on the consumer base. As people like myself introduce our kids to video games, the consumer base will see significant growth. Playing the "occasional" video game with my kids is one way we bond.

I like the concept of trading forex, but the fact that you can open an account for $250 bucks bothers me. If people are smart enough to size their risk, I think it can work. I was thinking of opening an account at oanda.com where you can actually change the size of the contract you trade.

Nice returns. My worst returns have come from trading illiquid stocks. My worst loss was pretty close to 100%, but I was young and stupid.

The whole reason for my blog is trading ideas. I will say though that I never give them out with the intention of people running to their broker to place orders. I'm kind of using it as a way to keep myself honest. To make sure I'm picking the best fit my method.

Anyway, I love looking at charts others post. I think it's really cool to read their thought process.

Excellent observation on walmart wild1. I figured they were going to take a big hit on recent economic developments. I figure a protracted recessionary environment will really hurt them, but we're no there yet.

My fall back plan is basically to short the initial down move and then sit in cash. I think these corrections are exciting because of all the future leaders correcting, setting up for their next run.

Reminds me of a lecture given to a Harvard Business School Class some time ago, which said that they should quit school and start a "web company". I can't remember all the exact details, but it was circa 2000. Right before the implosion. Not that programming for facebook isn't a good idea. At least the kids taking the class are engaged. If only my college business classes were that interesting.

Looks like there was descent volume on that last candle(according to esignal) I think I would make a play over the top of the last candle, taking partials at resistance at 25.40 and exiting at the 50 SMA.

Hey wild,

Agree with you on all points. Number two especially. Index funds are kind of a crutch. They give you the sense of security because you assume the market will go up from the point you bought it to the point you sell.

It's the well planned buy and sells that have performed the best in my portfolio.

What a great topic. It is amazing the amount of work it takes to get a successful venture going. I've had the opportunity to be a part of two businesses and it takes work. There are few overnight successes.

I like the mention of the fallacy of the "build it and they will come" mentality. This concept is known all to well to bloggers who struggle to get traffic.

That's great to hear. When I take into consideration trading ideas without alot of synthesis, it tends to cloud my judgment. I stop trading my style and use someone else's.
