The Obama campaign should ignore it. Only the McCain campaign could benefit, once the general media picks up the story. McCain operatives, as we all know, already wallow in the glow of that so-called "race card" fiasco.

Re: Remember . . . Of course, the mainstream media is not picking up on it:

http://www.military.com/opinion/0,15202,164859_...

Re: DNC08: Clinton/Obama Friction Played Out

The Greek-temple stage setting for Barack Obama's acceptance speech, tomorrow is the focus of some of the news anchors/pundits, today. They are say ing Obama is setting himself up as some sort of "Greek God." Of course, any reasonable person would see the absurdity of what they are saying. Clearly, ancient Greece was birthplace of Democracy (Democratic Party) and the stage setting is a representation of that, as well as replica of a forum where all (Gr.) people were able to give voice and be heard.

Re: Obama Makes McCain Uncomfortable

I wonder if John McCain takes any comfort from the fact that on “THE HANNITY SHOW,” Wednesday his running mate Sarah Palin answered Hannity's question about recent press coverage by saying, “Never pick a fight with somebody who buys ink by the barrel.” Funny, I heard that same quote from the character “Toby,” in a recent episode of the Bravo Channel re-run of “THE WEST WING.” We may not know what newspapers Palin reads, but apparently we can take a good guess about at least one of her favorite TV shows.

Re: Barack Obama - Not Black?

Clearly, PRESIDENT-ELECT BARACK OBAMA is Black. If he were not Black, MSNBC's CHRIS MATTHEWS would not be so comfortable constantly refering to him as "BARACK" instead of "PRESIDENT-ELECT OBAMA" or "MR. OBAMA," a courtesy, by the way, afforded to every other president-elect before Mr. Obama.

Re: Barack Obama - Not Black?

kenyaw,

You are not alone.

Re: Blagojevich On Obama: “F*%$ Him.”

ABC's Jake Tapper said on the Ed Schultz program, today (Weds.) that it is "frustrating nothing in yesterday's (Blagojevic affidavit) says (President-elect) Obama did anything wrong." My question is: why is this "frustrating?" What's your agenda, Mr. Tapper?

Re: Thursday Afternoon Open Thread

Sorry to put a dampener on things, but I have to pose a rhetorical question, and it is a question I've posed in this forum before Mr. Obama took the oath of office.; it's even more disturbing for me, now: Why does MSNBC's Chris Matthews think it's OK to refer to President Obama on national television as "Barack?" I cringe everytime he does this. I do not think he is a bad man, but I suspect Matthews is among those paternalistic dinosaurs who cannot bring themselves to defer to anyone of color, even the President of the United States. Of course, this does not compare to Rush Limbaugh's "I hope he fails," comment. But even this seemingly benign remark is a reminder that things may have changed, but not that much. Let's hope Matthews knows to stand up when the President enters the room., at least

Re: Thursday Afternoon Open Thread

Based on your suggestion, I did just that.
