So, you can buy an Aspire One for $425 with XP, then another $119 for a battery, just to match the same capacity the EEE PC 901 comes with off the shelf? At $544, I'd pay the extra $25 to get the EEE PC. At least you get a case with the EEE and a nice SSD - which isn't an option for the Aspire One XP version.
The Aspire does appear to have a nice keyboard, and I do like the two SD card slots, but if it has a hard drive what do I need two slots for?
I want one. Think of it, you're at a party or on a vacation trip with friends, and they have all these great photos.... and I know from experience that they're never, ever going to get around to emailing them to me. So, I borrow their SD card for a few seconds and low and behold I have the pics I want. The ability to copy an SD card without the use of a PC is a great thing IMO. I would use this thing all the time. As for DRM... I don't use it. In fact, I refuse to purchase anything that is DRM-ed.
