I may be wrong though, but if the staffs of Getlandingpages.com do run complicated PPC campaigns like what we do, it could drastically improve the quality of their landing pages (in terms of quality score).

If it's only a one-page thing (according to Rhianna's comment), then what's the point of having it?

I still remember your request to Overture... It seems like rather with Panama, the continent blocking was introduced instead of what you have asked for.

Isn't this what Yahoo supposed to be focusing on - the social side of things.

in Return on Effort with PPC Campaigns on Vinny Lingham's Blog
Vinny, it's true.

Most 2nd or 3rd tier PPC search engines either have extremely low traffic volume on their tail, or have very low traffic volume as a whole. It's definitely going to hurt your ROE if you haven't probably worked out what you actually worth per minute!

The No Follow attribute has been a great way of combating blog link spams, but Vinny I think it's a good move from you in restoring the true purpose of link popularity.

I hope Ananzi is using this poll to determine if they will soon scrap all their pop-ups & -unders. I agree with Vinny that pop-ups & -unders really work these days, as there is solid evidence that search has long been dominating in the space of online advertising - Google is an excellent example.

Vinny, this finding simply shows that by doing paid search professionally by one of the toppest PPC companies (e.g. Clicks2Customers) will eventually benefit a web page's search engine optimization effort!

in Yahoo Loses the Plot with Quality Score & Panama on Vinny Lingham's Blog
If Yahoo's intention is to improve ad's quality and then ad's click-through-rate, this is definitely the wrong move. Only by allowing all the agencies and affiliates to compete or to complement, the ad with the best quality will be discovered.

From this perspective, Yahoo is still way behind Google.

Btw, Shanghai and Hong Kong of China are great places to be, though I'm missing the beaches in Cape Town!

Though, PPC geo-targeting is never yet perfect, I really like that fact that Brian keeps saying IP targeting is just a subset of geo-targeting.

in My Mac has died… on Vinny Lingham's Blog
Vinny, I think you were just unfortunate! I just ran a search on Wikipedia for "Powerbook" and found the paragraph below:

== Product recall of PowerBook G4 units by Consumer Product Safety Commission ==

On May 20, 2005, the Consumer Product Safety Commission ordered a recall of some Apple PowerBook G4 batteries. The official CPSC recall notice states that an internal short can cause the battery cells to overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. The defective batteries can be returned to Apple for replacement. Approximately 128,000 defective units were sold.
