in Interesting stuff.. on iPhone-dev blog
frankly, this is so disgustingly pathetic that it borders on stupidity. get over yourselves, devteam. you still need the bootloaders in order for you method to work, so its not just zibri guilty of copyright infringement. of course, im not condoning zibri stealing your code, but he did turn it into the first mass-marketable tool for iphone unlocking, while you sat on your elitist hands and designed a system that was COMPLETELY unapproachable by someone without moderate proficiency with computers and allowed a system to take root where people actually had to PAY other people to get their phones unlocked. both of you, dev team and zibri, screwed up, and both of you are taking the holier-than-thou way out. not so simple. at least zibri acted as a man of the people.

resonance No, this is where you misread things.

No Dev team tool has actually contained the bootloader files for the very reason your talking about here! Its copyrighted material. Pwnage and the like always make you go out and hunt for them yourselves, leaving the burden of illegality on whoever is hosting said files.

The Dev team are no more guilty of copyright infringement than Sony, Pioneer and the like are for building DVD-Burners.

Having the tools does not equal committing the crime and this is one of THE most important distinctions to be made, here, when it comes to torrenting, P2P, iPods and all the rest.

For a group of mis-informed people to try to take Fox news off the air, along with their right to the first amendment, is quite ironic, don't you think?
