in Comments Is King on Flop Idle, Internet Marketing Blog
It's true, often the real 'juice' in a post is in the comments. If you have a particularly active and interesting blog the comments will often add to the conversation. You can tell how engaging a blog and its author are by the number of comments. Of course, just a few comments might also be a sign of needing to improve traffic levels too.

in The Truth About Using Duplicate Content On Your Blogs on Work From Home Business Blog
Pretty much all you have to do to debunk the duplicate content penalty is to Google on the lyrics to a song like 'satisfaction lyrics' or on a popular AP news story. You'll see page after page of duplicate or near duplicate content in your results.

The bottom line is that things like incoming links and domain age and authority is what matters when it comes to how things will rank.

in 9 Essential Elements of High-Quality Web Content on Social Media Rockstar
A few thoughts...

On #1, it's easy to combine both SEO and social into your title if you think about. Searching is the natural way people think. People enter search terms, not computer algorithms. Think about how you would search for an article on the topic you're writing about and you're likely to come up with a title that works for both SEO and social interaction.

On #7, those popular 'please subscribe to my newsletter' interstitial ads almost always insure a quick stumble to the next page. They're supposed to convert well but you have to think that you're getting a lot of 'wood' that way (as they put it in Boiler Room).

On #9, I don't post my picture online. I like my privacy.

in Blog comments on Jim's Marketing Blog
One of the other big benefits of allowing comments is that it has SEO benefits as well. Whenever good, on-topic, comments are made this can add additional keywords to a page and strengthen the ones already present on it. Google loves new content and active pages and sites will tend to be spidered more often and included on-going index updates.

in A Comic Reminder to Avoid a Social Media Reputation Blunder on Marketing Pilgrim
Disgraced evangelist Ted Haggard recently said that he lost out on jobs he thought he had because prospective employers Googled his name and discovered the scandal. Of course, his fall from grace was well known on and off line.

One other problem is when someone else has the same name as yours and outranks you in Google and has Facebook and other profiles. A potential employer could glance at those, assume the drunken idiot on YouTube is you and pass on offering you an interview.

in Focus on people - Not ‘hits’! on Jim's Marketing Blog
You mentioned, "I’m told a blogger should post something every day, for the best SEO results." Unfortunately, you were told wrong. There is no need to update everyday for SEO purposes unless you're chasing trends traffic, like who's the hot celeb today or who got a bailout today.

Otherwise, it's a matter of targeting the right keywords and building the right back links to your site. That way your traffic level will remain the same even if you don't update in a week, month or even a year.

in Fringe Recap: “Pilot” on Pop Critics
I caught it last night on Hulu. I agree, it's like a cross between Lost and X Files. Hey, maybe Oceanic 815 is part of the 'pattern'

I'm looking forward to seeing how this show progresses. One problem I've noted in shows like this is that they get too complex and continuity begins to fall apart. We'll see if it happens with this show.

Mike Olbinski Yup, that's what happened with the X-Files...I hope it wont here, but I think Abrams is a good guy to have in place to try and prevent it.

Let's see now. A mercenary, mega-New York City, a package, a mysterious young woman who holds a secret. Where have I seen this plot before? Hmm... I know I've seen this somewhere before. I'd bet my mul-ti-pass on it.

This would be a twist if it came about, Trevor was a plant by Carla to distract Michael from his pursuit of her. She wants to keep him thinking he's making progress but is actually keeping him in check.

I was hoping they would add a perpetually upbeat character, like Kaylee on Firefly.

I agree Nikki and Poochy were awful new characters.

Duplicate content shouldn't be a concern. Griz recently wrote an article about this issue here: Duplicate Content is Google’s Weak Link.

in Some “Burn Notice” season 2 promo photos on Pop Critics
Can't wait for the second season to start. I'm happy they finally put all of season 1 on Hulu so I could catch the episodes I missed without having to fight for a TiVo recording slot with my wife and son.

I liked the line in the second episode where Fiona says why she dropped her Irish accent, "I can't very well go about sounding like a leprechaun now can I?"

in Spike Lee Calls Clint Eastwood A Racist and Angry Old Man on Pop Critics
Doubleplusungood crimethink by Clint Eastwood.

Spike Lee is just looking for something to complain about and to promote his own movie. I'd guess if there was a token African-American who dropped off ammo with the flag raisers he would have complained about that too.

in Lost season finale recap: “There’s No Place Like Home” (4×13) on Pop Critics
Jeremy Bentham, like John Locke, was an English political philosopher. Bentham expanded upon Locke's ideas in his books. Interestingly, Bentham's body was preserved and stored in a wooden cabinet that is currently displayed on the campus of University College London.

Jin could have survived I guess but the chances would be rather low I would think. You just don't want to be that close to that much C4 when it turns a freighter into flying shrapnel. Somebody else mentioned the people on the launch picking him up. That would be a way to logically get him back to the Island.

Will the remaining 815 and freighter survivors in the beach camp conflict with the Others now led by Locke? That's going to be interesting to see.

in Lost season finale recap: “There’s No Place Like Home” (4×13) on Pop Critics
Michael is probably dead, given his release by Jacob/Christian.

Jin is probably history too given that if he survived the explosion uninjured he was still too far away from the Island to swim to it before Ben moved it. He would have died in the ocean from exhaustion.

Locke in the coffin became obvious when Jeremy Bentham got mentioned as the deceased. Him taking his rightful place as leader of The Others was interesting too.

The Island moving was certainly a WTF moment. Jack still thinks denial is just a river in Egypt.

Charlotte could have been born on the Island just like Aaron and Alex were with the mother arriving after the 'deadline'.

Sun has turned to the dark side and will be a force to be reckoned with or redeemed in the upcoming episodes.

in Mini-series review: “Band of Brothers” (2001) on Pop Critics
One of the things that they did with the casting as much as possible was to select actors that looked like the actual people. For example, if you have the book take a look at the picture of Captain Lewis Nixon drunk in the bed at Berchtesgaden and then at Ron Livingston in the same scene in the movie.

As I said no Rachel Weisz means wait for cable when nothing else worth watching is on. I also liked the Ardeth Bay character as well and that character doesn't seem to be in this movie either.

Ryan doing the perp walk. Yes, karmic justice in action.

Holly the new HR lady is perfect for Michael but his toxic relationship with Jan will spoil things.

Andy is a moron and Jim is afraid of commitment.

Thanks for the great review Sara,

I originally wrote Link Luv Post Builder for my own use to help out with the points you mentioned while building niche and link cluster blogs. I'm glad others are using it to achieve the same results.

I decided to not do an affiliate program this time to keep the price low. On most software products sold online at ClickBank the cost of such a program represents 70% of the cost. By not going this route I'm able to pass substantial savings on to buyers.
