in ArtistData Blog - News and Updates from ArtistData on The ArtistData Blog
This is great news - once you have Facebook pages nailed I'll be using artist data instead of each site and/or other 3rd party site - twitter, fb pages, and myspace status updates are the killer feature for me.

in Involver Adds Automation to Facebook Page Management on Mashable - The Social Media Guide
This is a really great article and the Involver apps seem to work really well. Being able to add a header image is a nice touch, and the ability to push updates from each app to the wall/newsfeed is great.

One thing though I can see the images app, but the article above mentione dFlickr integration, and I can't any mention of flickr anywhere?

Dan | Ask Dan and Jennifer Hi James - man, thanks for sharing that, I didn't see that option to update the wall/newsfeed from these apps. OK, now I'm REALLY happy with these apps.

Have an awesome day!

in Goosync Gets Upgrade - Free Users Left Without Access on The Nokia Blog
I'm a paying user and I can't say I've experienced any problems. My cal and contacts have been syncing without any problems.

I've been using goosync for a couple of years and really rate the service.

Although apparently Seven Beta Push Email have apparently launched free syncing of Google cal and contacts, so it will be interesting to see how this affects goosync's service.

in Google Maps Mobile Streetview … near-Nirvana experience on Mobile Industry Review
I'm a little confused by this new version. For a start I couldn't download it from google.com/gmm on my phone - it kept giving me the previous 2.2.0.11 version (which I already have installed on my phone). Going to http://m.google.com/maps did the same. In the end I went to the 2nd url on my PC and was able to download 2.3.1, then bluetoothed the jad file to my phone (which worked fine).

After installing 2.3.1 on my Nokia N95 8GB (which is listed as a compatible phone) it would appear that the 'my location' feature that works brilliantly in 2.2.0.11 doesn't exist! I went to 'help' and was told that 'this device does not support the my location feature' - and yet the previous version did? Huh?

I now have both versions installed, but the new version seems a little obsolete if it's not making use of the GPS function on my phone? Surely Google wouldn't remove the 'my location' feature from a flagship handset such as the N95 8GB after already supporting it in previous versions of the software?

Ewan Could it be that GMM automatically finds your location, James?

in Why is Pearl Jam the Greatest? on Evolvor Digital Media Marketing
I agree with every word - great way of summing the best rock band ever up.

For me, reason number 6 would be that despite having sold 50 million albums worldwide, they're still the best kept 'secret', the majority of the 'hip' mainstream ignores them and knows very little about their history (everyone just remembers the 'Ten' era) and I like that.

And on a personal note, I was lucky enough to meet and chat to all of the band members a couple of years ago and they were wonderfully nice people, check out my blog post if you're bored: http://www.jamesdclarke.com/2006/04/26/have-i-g...

in iGoogle, but Which One? Time to Fix the Google Apps Chaos… on Zoli's Blog
I've been using Google Apps for over a year now and essentially it's great, but as everyone mentions there are a few really annoying bugs!

Whilst the Google Apps start page has got much better allowing you to add nearly all of the gadgets that iGoogle has (this wasn't the case at one point) there's still a few bugs - Google Reader for example; it's not offered by GApps, so you can't add it to your start page as it's associated with your private Google login.

Any various greasemonkey scripts (for example on that creates tabbed pages within iGoogle) don't work with the GApps start page...a little bit of transparency and continuity would go a long way!
