boy, that sure is some pure ingsoc doublespeak they're serving up there. "death squads" are something we train at the college of the americas to "disappear" people in central america, or to overthrow popular governments/support totalitarian ones in central africa--they are literally paramilitary state-sponsored terrorist execution squads designed to quell internal dissent and prevent popular uprisings. maybe there are such things in iraq--maybe the republican guards count as one. but, i believe the united states armed forces are, technically, what one would call a form of EXTERNAL dissent. so armed resistance to them would be anything BUT death squads. but maybe i'm splitting hairs.

whoa chris, you're flashing me back to my 20's with the camus stuff. actually, to my late teens. sitting in coffee houses with my 2nd wave (early 80's) punk rock anarchist friends, talking about overthrowing the reagan regime...reading "resistance, rebellion and death" and talking about "hundredth monkey syndrome"...writing songs about that white flash we all expected to see just like in the dream sequence in T2...yet somehow we all survived. well. some of us survived, some of us did not.

i'm glad you're here, thinking about the same things as we did then. it gives me hope that somehow sanity might prevail in the coming New Dark Ages.

well, if nothing else it makes for interesting reading. but then again so does "mein kampf" (i'm not being a troll here--even and especially if you think hitler was a bad guy, and i sure do, it is instructive to read what he wrote, because people are using the same arguments today.) for a second there i was like, "wait, did pat robertson write this?" those guys are like two peas in a pod.

ironically, the guy does have a point up until (Q2). then he's just flat-out-fucked. i'm sorry, i will buy all of the "you fucked with us, now you must pay" delineation just fine, i'm right there with him; however, when he starts telling me that unless i adopt his religion i am doomed, he completely loses me and i say, fuck him. fuck him and his little moral majority. we already have a coalition for family values right here in the US of A, we don't need another one. and condemning us for "making up our own laws" instead of adopting those of God? come on.

it's like throughout (Q1) the brother reads like che guevara, and then suddenly in (Q2) it's like he's suddenly ayatollah khomeini or something. Seriously, i think this guy deserves a spot on the 700 club. doesn't he know that our own religious fanatics are in complete agreement with him?
