I'm not necessarily interested in a more powerful utility, just something with the elegance of Enso with some slight tweaks. But I'll try out ActiveWords and see if it fits my needs.

Re: Enso

I watched the demo videos and I'm not impressed with ActiveWords at all. Buzz, if you honestly think your programs have the same audience, you're sorely mistaken. Enso is elegant and straightforward. ActiveWords is straightforward and maybe more powerful, but in my opinion, unnecessarily so. Enso : Mac :: ActiveWords : PC is the best way I can describe it.

Re: Slightly more dynamic ORDER BY in SQL Server 2005

I like it Lamprey!

Re: iPhone Plan Is a Ripoff

I guess I wasn't really trying to bash the iPhone so much as point out that I think people are going to be very dissapointed with the device with inadequate and overpriced service options. T-Mobile's unlimited data/sms plan MAKES the Sidekick. The Sidekick isn't nearly as useful without the plan. For the iPhone to achieve success outside the tech-savvy and fanboys, I think it needs better a better service plan.

Re: Enso

Hi Ryan...I wrote this post before they enabled sticky keys. I tried using it with sticky keys too and it still didn't work for me (see <a href="http://john-sheehan.com/blog/index.php/enso-revisited/" rel="nofollow">http://john-sheehan.com/blog/index.php/enso-rev...</a>). Not saying its a bad product, just not for me.

Re: Slightly more dynamic ORDER BY in SQL Server 2005

Hi Ken,<br>I kind of thought that would be the case for larger queries. I'm only using this method on a query for under 100 rows so I haven't run into any performance issues yet.

Re: Someone please defend Visual SourceSafe

Oh, I'm not leaving. The company is great and we will eventually switch to SVN. I'm just looking for things that make VSS more tolerable.

Re: Free Visual Studio Add-in: SonicFileFinder

Great tip!

Re: VS2005 &#8216;prop&#8217; C# Code Snippet in VS2008

For default values. My bank for instance has nothing with their name in the URL for their online banking. How is highlighting the domain going to help in that case?

Re: Visual Studio 2008: First (Bad) Impressions

Fredrik, that was fixed in the VS2008 Hotfix. <a href="http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2008/02/08/vs-2008-web-development-hot-fix-roll-up-available.aspx" rel="nofollow">http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2008/02/...</a>

Re: Stupid Visual Studio Trick, Part 2

Since writing this tip, I've started to put some of the more common items I use on that toolbar. There's very basic support for functions, and none of them cover this case.
