One of the other things that makes that album so good is Bob Rock. He was at his peak as a producer in that era.

Even though that's a great clip, the one for Shutterbug was better. I haven't listened to that album in ages, think I'll put it on now.

How good was this EP. AIC were the first "grunge" band I got into simply because they had so much more melody than anyone else. They could brutally rip your face off and then quitely rip shreds of skin off without you noticing. I love that EP and Dirt.

Just looked into the prices for the Newcastle gig down here in Australia.

I'm sorry, I love the Crowes but I am not paying $120 for a theatre ticket. I think they'll be very dissappointed with crowd turnout with those prices.

It's just Gibson being Gibson. My guess is that there is an issue using the name "Powertune". Maybe the licensing agreement has been changed or something like that.

Anything I do listening to music I tend to do in rhythm. Walk, change gears, clean. Everything. If there is music I tend to follow it. I've always been that way.

Stangely enough, other friends of mine that are musicians do exactly the same thing.

Thanks. I don't get huge traffic but it's starting to build. I guess more traffic inspires me to make better content and better content makes more traffic. It's a win - win.

Yeah, not a huge amount but enough to be noticable for someone with a back or shoulder injury. It also depends on the model. I have two Epi's, an older generic type model and an Epi Goth (both LP's). The Goth is noticably heaver due to the chunkier neck radius and slightly thicker body.

I see what you mean. And for most burst finished I would agree, but there is something about a tobacco burst like this one that just makes me weak at the knees.

Exactly how I feel. Why dismiss something because it's cheap. If a reputable brand, known for great value products is putting this much effort into it, it is worth checking out.

It is, but when I see it I don't instantly think Jack White, whereas I'm sure a lot of people do. The Jem however is a good call. I would think it doesn't make their list because outside the guitar world Vai isn't exactly a household name.

Oh Yeah, without a doubt. They are built like a brick. I had a PA stack collapse on my pedal rig one night and the only thing to survive was the Phase 90.

As far as i know the pickups are a re-issue of sorts. They are custom wound for this model, but are based of the '57. or so I've been told.

I have an absolute love / hate thing going on at the moment. I love the guitars, but I hate the company. I love how they are trying to embrace new technologies, but I hate how they are marketing and implementing them ie: the Robot series.

Hi Jason, thanks for stopping by. I don't think anyone here is saying they are bad products. i think the people who have responded so far just can't "learn" that way, just as I'm sure there are just as many people out there who do learn better that way. Everyone's learning styles are different.

And just so you know, I have a Gary Moore DVD from another company that is note for note, and I personally found it useless. That was the inspriation for the post. I'm sure other people would have found it invaluable. Just not me.

MusiciansRoad is still under quite some heavy construction so any criticism is appreciated. I had a plan for that front page layout that is not quite happening so I will make is a bit simpler for the time being. You are dead on, way to busy.

Don't worry, this site will still be alive and kicking. Hopefully you'll get the guitar skills and tidbits from this site, and the business side of things through the other.

BTW... I'm adding your blog to my list of reads. We share the same fixation in naming our guitars. I too, own a "Blackie".

For sure. I'm not jumping in and just playing through. I'm going to plan this out properly so I have a definite path to follow. With out the plan I'd just be spinning my wheels, sometimes it is a drag to be so busy. I have full time work, a business getting off the fround, plus trying to get back in shape al to contend with too.
