Since you've mentioned McCarthy and The Road, I will admit to having a spectacular crush on Garret Dillahunt. (Spectacular enough to put his upcoming films on my Google alerts and land here looking for a release date.) I can't remember ever having this much fun discovering an actor. He just rocks.

Good post.

The feeling I got while watching was that Adama's flashbacks were a set-up for some future episode where this latest insight into him as a man who finds it easier to see his crew as family than his actual family, might be put to use.

Even in the episode, the flashback provides a nice parallel to his relationship with Apollo and there's a tiny character arc in its own right in the end.

Not bad for filler on the whole, but I'd have enjoyed it a lot more if it didn't postpone the Baltar trial storyline for yet another week.

I hope it's Apollo. Most of the other candidates haven't exactly been developed enough for the revelation to be interesting and Apollo himself could use a nice new arc. He was one of the major players early on, but lately he's just blending into the background of whatever story they're telling.

It also occurred to me that it might be Anders, but we didn't get much background on him, so things might be lacking proper build-up.

I'm liking Gaeta as a Cylon, but I doubt he is the one.

Baltar is still my #1 bet. BSG isn't really a show that relies on sensationalism and I'd probably be disappointed if they changed course from drama to the kind of thing you see in a J.J. Abrams show.

Anyway, interesting post. I've enjoyed reading it. :)
