Since you posted this, Apple's stock price has fallen by 10%

Stephen It would be interesting if that had really happened. Looks like AAPL stock is up though.

in 7 random things ‘meme’ on Web Business by Ken Burbary
This may be just a meme, but I actually think this is a great post, because I worked for you for 3.5 years and (perhaps through nobody's fault but my own) didn't really learn a whole lot about you. This helps to humanize you as opposed to being just this awesome biz guru and sometimes intimidating manager. Also, I would never have imagined you were a WWII buff, though I believe you did quote Churchill a few times so I should have guessed! As for the plasma donations - that's surely the mark of a young entrepreneur. Anyway, definitely glad I came by and read this.

All good advice. And that final pic is priceless, outlines the issue perfectly lol

I suppose the ultimate aim might be to become a positive celeb eg seth godin/gary vee as opposed to the next paris hilton eg infamous. Either that, or just lay low!

What a dufus lol. I don't understand the mac obsession of 'unboxing' to be honest, it's just not all that special once you've done it a couple times, I wouldn't post it unless my product started to fly around the room or something.

John Phillips Well for me, I just like unboxing just about anything. But aside from that, Apple products consistently have awesome packaging, and as a designer, I love to see that. But the fanboys for Apple make a big deal out of unboxing just about anything Apple.....even if it's just Applecare lol.

I have that book sitting on my shelf at home waiting to be read. Judging by all the buzz I hear about it, I should get around to it soon.

in Facebook Continues to Clamp Down on Apps on AllFacebook
Yes this is a very welcome change and I applaud the facebook team for thinking of users first. Anyone seeking to use fb as a platform for monetizing their spammy/crappy applications should start to think twice before unleashing any more ultimate FAIL on us.

Great work Filipe. I'm using this on several WP sites, should be included into WP core IMO. Thanks for taking the time.

I picked up on this method after reading Dave Shea's article 'CSS Sprites' over at ALA.

That's insane. The changes they made to the mark-up and display make no sense at all. Why bother paying an outside professional to do a quality job then allow your in-house monkeys to crap all over it?

It's very frustrating when site owner's don't want to accept that a designer probably knows best when it comes to design. It's not like we tell them how to run their business. Why can't we all stick to what we actually know?

I've had some pretty bizzare requests from clients. It's a continuous struggle to get even the most basic concepts of accessability and web standards across to those who have no real knowledge of the internet and how it works.

Perhaps you should submit this fouled-up design to http://webpagesthatsuck.com/ - then send the company an e-mail politely notifying them of their 'accolade' :)
