Seems like it hasn't worked out so well in their case.

I want to think America is smarter than this too, but I live in rural Georgia and thus I know better than that.

Re: Sarah Palin’s national debut

And the TV bubbleheads are blithering about whether her speech was a "home run" or a "hat trick" (being a hockey mom and all that BS).

As I wrote on dKos, Palin is all about GOTPV (Get Out The Pharisee Voters) — they'll push away indies and all but the most delusional PUMAs, and hand the White House to Obama, but they'll shore up teetering House and Senate seats in red districts/states. The goplet plan is probably to hold the Senate closer than 60D/40R, obstruct anything and everything, and then come back in 2012 and say "he can't get the job done."

'Course, if we get complacent, they could end up Diebolding the White House as well. Then we're ska-rewwed.

Re: Uppity Obamas

Planet Georgia, where the pod people took over long ago. It wasn't until the last few minutes that I realized: he was trying to sound like Reagan. But he ended up coming across as Crabby Reagan, snapping "you don't understand" how many times? Then Obama would step up and show he *does* understand.

Obama really needed only to tie this one being an "away" game, and he did at least that. Neither side totally hosed up, both got their points across, but McCain is perceived as having the foreign policy chops and he should have had a clear win. He didn't.

I hope the other debates run like this, with both sides given enough time to *say* something instead of spew sound bites. Someone said the real winner was Jim Lehrer.

Re: Hope for my children

That's great - even better than Obama's quip about the puppy in his victory speech!

My youngest daughter is 19 now, and this was the first election where she voted. She asked me for advice — I hope I did it right, I told her I was voting for Obama and why, but also told her she had to make her decision. I don't know (and haven't asked) if she went with Obama or not, but she *did* say on Wed. that "people need to just chill and stop taking this so seriously - they won't get out of life alive anyway" about some of the "we're doomed"ers.

Re: Windows Live is doing it wrong

You'd expect anything but FAIL from Microsoft?

Re: So long Instinct. Many of the features like video or voice recording can be addressed with free or paid apps.

AT&T may suck in general, but here you can't count on much besides AT&T and Verizon. The latter may have better coverage, but they also have a real control-freak attitude.

Anyway, I hope you find a phone & a carrier you like!

Re: Why I’ve been silent

{{{fabooj}}} I remember you writing back when, about the problems you were having collecting from some of your clients. Thus the comment on Twitter about looking at houses in KC.

I would be not surprised to find myself unemployed before year-end, although I don't actually expect it at the moment. Hang in there, I hope your clients get a clue and send you some coin… if it comes down to it, you could always sell your accounts receivable to an aggregator or bill collector. >8-}

Re: Obama’s been Tupac’d

Sean, you nailed it…

Re: My Valentine’s Day Personality

You rawk. Java or LoseMo'? Seems like an app developer could knock something together or easily adapt something already on one of those platforms. Then again, when I had a Samsung Sync, the Google app wouldn't load due to a rotten cert on the Sync. grrrr

Gotta say I love my iPhone, it was indispensable on vacation.

Re: 10 years later…

Awww, how sweet! That's one thing about getting old that you can look forward to: no more fundraisers. Until they reproduce, anyway.

The reason they have to do the fundraisers is that everyone shits their pants when school taxes have to go up a penny. Morons don't seem to realize that it's an investment.
