It is time for everyone to stop talking nursing homes and start talking adult day centers. Adult day centers allow elders to remain in the home and receive care during the day in a safe environment. While I do not advocate adult day centers in homes I do advocate adult day centers as a choice in every community as a choice.
Adult day centers are cost effective, benefit both the participant as well as caregiver. Wonderful option.
Please write your state senators and legislators and encourage Medicare as well as states such as NY and my home state of WV to recognize the need to federal laws to oversee adult day centers and assisted living in all states to better serve our seniors.

CONGRATULATIONS to Mr. Ustayev, his staff, and the community on the opening of his SarahCare center in Jenkintown. Jenkintown is fortunate to have such a wonderful senior care option available to them. I encourage all caregivers to give the center a call or stop by for more information on the benefits of adult day care.
