the adCenter Affiliate Program is open, you need to become a Microsoft partner.

I had considered attending, but CJ never sold me on the value of the conference. It was hard to justify the expense by looking at the CJU website/promotions.

Anyone care to share their opinion on this event?

Somebody gave them this advice. Im sure they were paid well for this advice, but surely their Google domination won't last fotever.

I think it would be fun to have a bloggers exercise challenge. People could start their weigh in at any public function, such as SES and track it through several months. This would be a healthy way to inspire positive change. The winner gets some SERIOUS link love.

Vlad it is always good to try things besides PPC and sending out press releases is a long term solution. I like to post the press release on my site at least 1 week before submitting to the wire so that my site is the authoritative source for the content.

All the mainstream media pundits predicted Microsoft would crush GOOGLE in search and this was absolutely proven false. The same is true in this case, Goliath will not crush David.

Google will make tons of money serving the 95% of affiliate/contextual marketers who just want to embed links on their sites. Google will expose more people to text links, but these are people who never would have used the CPA networks anyways.

CJ et all will still do just fine serving the 5% super affiliates and high volume players in the ad publishing sphere.

It's amazing how annoying captcha visual confirmation can be. I'm used to it on ticketmaster, but no other affiliate system uses it. Good riddance captcha!

I have to say Im definitely in favor of affiliate programs pointing to your URL instead of a 3rd party. As the closing of Befree.com demonstrates, there is the danger of any affiliate system closing, and if it does, all your hard earned affiliate links suddenly die. Similarly if the affiliate host has website performance problems or downtime, you will not receive any leads during this time.

Amazon.com is a great example of an affiliate system that maximizes the site owners benefit.
