in Personal Development Roadblocks - “The Situation” on SidSavara.com
We are all full of excuses aren't we? I really like how you've broken them down here. It goes very nicely with the post that I wrote on my site today. Determining a root cause and then attacking it is right on track!

Sid Savara Hey Jeff,
Thanks for your comment! I'm still full of excuses, but hopefully not as
many as I used to ;)

in Changing the way I use twitter… on theory.isthereason
I agree that too much automation and focus on growing numbers can kill the quality of what we write. This is true of Twitter and blogging in general. Doing what is right for SEO or to build big numbers sometimes steals the passion from writing. I think our readers feel it. Good for you on your new approach!

The tools you mention have a place in our use of Twitter, but they can't be our sole means of interaction.

in How to Pack a Bag When Traveling on Art of Manliness
This is a great post that points out some excellent techniques! I particularly like the advice for creating a packing list. I wrote a post awhile back called:

12 Things You Absolutely Must Pack For Vacation

It is an example of such a list. It might help some of your readers from forgetting to pack important items before a trip. I hope it adds value. Thanks!

in Self-Sabotage: How To Turn Resistance Into Momentum on Billionaire Woman
Nathalie - I really like this post! It is very accurate in my experience. It sure would be nice if growth and success were easy, but they are not. It definitely takes stepping outside your comfort zone.

I certainly feel myself resisting my own progress from time-to-time. I'm so glad you wrote this article. I think it will help a lot of people deal with this issue. It will give them the tools they need to recognize these behaviors and overcome them.

Nathalie Lussier Thanks so much for your kind words Jeff. I think we often assume other people don't face the same issues we do. Just knowing that others like yourself have faced these issues gives me hope.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting! :)

in One Number That Has The Power to Change Your Life on Billionaire Woman
Age is all in the mind! I love your statement, "So go out there, decide what it is you want, and make it happen." I agree. The world is just waiting to see what we will demand from it. Age makes no difference. Great article!

in The Awesome Dad Cheat Sheet: 18 Fatherhood Tips They Should’ve Handed Out at the Delivery Room on Art of Manliness
I am a father of two beautiful daughters and I think these are all excellent reminders of what fatherhood is really all about. I especially like your comment about teaching them independence. I think we have to give our kids a chance to make their own decisions when the consequences are less severe. How else are they going to learn to make good choices in adulthood?

in Are the Suburbs Killing Your Manhood? on Art of Manliness
This is a fantastic article! I have long thought that we are dying as men because of the safety of the world in which we live. Men were made to tame the wilderness, but once it is tamed, we need to move on to the next adventure. Adventure can be found in a lot of different settings as you mention above. However, it seems much harder to find in the subarbs than out in the woods. I feel the need for a man trip coming on!

in short term, long term on brip blap
I agree with the others here. There are multiple ways to invest our time. I recently read this quote from E.B. White:

"I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve (or save) the world and a desire to enjoy (or savor) the world. This makes it hard to plan the day."

I think you just chose to savor the day!

in Wisdom and Understanding: Better than silver or gold! on Bible Money Matters
I think we've all been guilty of being less than intentional with our money at one point or another. Sounds like you are headed in the right direction now. My wife and I have been following Dave Ramsey's plan for the last couple of years. It has been working well for us. I look forward to hearing more about how things go for you.

in The Virtuous Life: Chastity on Art of Manliness
Posting an article about chastity in today's world is certainly a difficult and risky thing to do! I applaud what you've done here. I think you have handled the subject very well.

I think as you have pointed out that there are a number of issues in our culture that stem from our casual attitude toward sex. One that I didn't see you mention concerns unwanted pregnancies. For many, sex is not without it's consequences no matter how good modern birth-control seems. There is no clean and easy way around a pregnancy. Such matters can haunt one for years.

in Asking a Woman’s Father For Her Hand In Marriage on Art of Manliness
I asked my wife's father for permission before we got married and I'm glad I did. My wife appreciated it to. Her father's approval was important to her. I think it got things off on the right foot between us all. I have a great relationship with my in-laws and I'm thankful for it. I believe this was just one small gesture that helped build rapport in our relationship. We are now going on 17 years of marriage! It helps when you have so much support.

in How To Survive and Thrive In a Street Fight in 8 Simple Steps on Art of Manliness
Hey, you forgot run like your hair is on fire! Oh yeah, I don't have any hair. Oh well, I still like the idea of creating a distraction and running like crazy to get out of the situation. It may not be very manly and you can call me a chicken if you like, but avoiding a fight is the best way to survive it.
