in Our 3 favorite ways to wear gladiator sandals on style observer
Cute looks, but I feel like you could have done something more creative.
@ ann above: Wear heels like the ones in Look 3. I'm chubby and short so I have to be careful with flats too, but I'd rock some glad heels with skinnies.

in McCain on Choice: Low-Income Women on Menstrual Poetry
Word, I totally agree on this... except that it isn't the responsibility of the government to give you a great life. I know enough well off teenagers who joined and are joining the military, and poor students can make something of themselves if they try. We should be teaching kids self-esteem and to follow their passions and doing other things to prevent teens joining up. Even with abortions legal, there are poor people who have babies by choice.

in Just Another Day to Insult the Intelligence of Women on Menstrual Poetry
"is it really worth it to get worked up or annoyed even in the slightest about a retarded JC penny ad? You dont have to go all angry femi-nazi on everything you know. Save it for shit that matters."
I wouldn't say it so harshly, but that is exactly what I was going to say. Writing about abortion bans means something. But that ad really needed its own post?? I don't see men getting upset at the countless ads that make them look like one-dimensional football-watching idiots. Really, most advertising in society seems to put down men. It is marketed to us that men don't get women, that men disappoint and need to make up for it, that all guys do is watch sports and drink beer, etc. And in comedic commercials in corporate settings, it is always the female professional who is the smart one, while the guys are buffoons.
I can be feminine and love jewelry and want a boyfriend without being part of the problem and I LOVE Valentine's Day, whether I'm in a relationship or not. And while I may be thinking about a necklace (something I could put on and think about my boyfriend each time I wear it and feel pretty, is why girls like jewelry), there are plenty of women out there who are surely buying their husbands equally expensive watches and electronics equipment as a SYMBOL their love.

in It’s Blog Action Day on Sufficient Thrust
Ooh I just posted a blog and I wish I had known about Blog Action day earlier. No matter. I will post environment posts later on for sure. Today I walked to the grocery store, but only because I don't have a car. Um, I recycle all of my bottles & cans. My favorite cleaner is non-toxic & environmentally friendly, but I'm out of it.
I peed a couple of times without flushing to conserve water (and because I wanted my blue toilet water tablet to last).
Any environment-friendly tips for cleaning/living?
