Honestly don't know what I mean, what are the issues with this? Yes I don't know anything about jailbreaking. I actually bought the g2 not knowing that. I just got it for a very very good deal with the 30%live cashback+10% ebay discount like 3 months ago. I've been trying to read but I don't understand much of it.

in WARNING! on Chronic Dev Blog
I appreciate the hard work, I saved 40% on my ipod touch 2G, just sad that i can't jailbreak it, which I did not know at the point of purchase. When and I know you will release the JB, I'll be sure to really show my gratitude =).

I need to own when WoTLK expansion comes out!

That will outline pretty much what "becomes available" to people to jailbreak their iPhone/iPod Touch.
If you decide at that point that "yeah, I really want to do this", then read the procedure at:
http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread....
This is the manual procedure, and gives you a "gritty" idea of what you are doing to your iPod. Most of the hacking, is RAM hacking, and erases if you turn off your iPod. No permanent changes, except for the "HDD" that contains the actual system, which is erasable, and can be restored to "Brand New Factory" condition, in the event you screw it up, or decide you don't like it, or need to get the iPod fixed under warranty.
The Graphical User Interface method I see praised the most seems to be Cyw00d's creation:
http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread....
Use this if you're squeamish about manually hacking your iPod, this GUI provides all the steps scripted, and holds your hand through the entire process.
From that point on, you'll need to reconnect to a PC to reboot your iPod, until they develop a new method to apply the redsn0w, or 0wnboot patch internally. I use this script to reboot:
http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread....
Or I have seen it mentioned that you can follow the last part of the Cyw00d GUI Jailbreak Tool to reboot the device.
