The McCain campaign had to shift funds from GOTV to ads. Obama has the money to put ads. Now he needs to put out an ad in response to the Rev. Wright ad.

I posted this in another thread that a commentator at Daily Kos had this to say :

...“Previous elections may not be an accurate reflection of this election. The "undecideds" are substantial, and many people called by pollsters have for various reasons refused to answer or have lied about their actual choice---which could make any conclusion about how many Democrats will vote for McCain in[a]ccurate. And it could be that the number of previous Hillary Clinton supporters who will vote for McCain has been seriously underestimated by the Democrats. We really have no idea how many votes this will cost Obama until Nov. 5th.”

There was an AP Poll that bear this out :

"One in seven, or 14 percent, can't decide or back a candidate but might switch, according to an Associated Press-Yahoo News poll of likely voters released Friday. Who are they? They look a lot like the voters who've already locked onto a candidate, though they're more likely to be white and less likely to be liberal. And they disproportionately backed Hillary Rodham Clinton's failed run for the Democratic nomination."

I am sorry that this is OT but I found this to be interesting from a commentator at Daily Kos:

Here in a New York Times article, Saxby Chambliss explained that the Republican base is energized because of the following:

"There has always been a rush to the polls by African-Americans early," he [Chambliss] said at the square in Covington, a quick stop on a bus tour as the campaign entered its final week. He predicted the crowds of early voters would motivate Republicans to turn out. "It has also got our side energized, they see what is happening," he said.

I can't believe this mofo has the nerve saying that. That may explain why we see tightening in the polls. Most of it coming from the south. The Republicans can't stand to see people exercising their right to vote. Screw them! We'll teach them a lesson!

Nate_Wesley I'm not surprised a Republican said it. Still though, if he has to hope that 'their side' comes in hopes of canceling out Barack Obama supporters--and not because of enthusiastic support of John McCain--I'm not going to place much stock on that being very fruitful.
rikyrah But, despite it all, we're coming out . No matter how many obstacles they put before us - we're coming out.

The picture was taken by Gordan Parks who was an African American photographer and filmmaker. The picture is a parody of "American Gothic". That painting with the white farm couple standing in front of a house. The husband is with a pitchfork in his hand. They are supposed to represent America even though that no longer exists. You can find some more info on the photographer:

s Believe what you will, but do you know any undecided voters? Do you know anyone who pretends to be undecided or support Obama but will actually vote for McCain? I do.

Do ou know anyone who makes over $250,000 who is concerned about Obama's tax plan? I do.

Do you know any self-employed or small business owners who fear that raising taxes on their customers will cause them to suffer economically? I do.

Do you know any individuals who are concerned about the ideological undertones of a politician who talks more about 'economic justice' and 'redistributive change' than 'individual freedom' and 'opportunity.'? I do.

Do you know any voters who see the bailout as the last straw and do not want to see the government in charge and take on a greater role in the private sector? I do.

Do you know anyone who has seen how one-party rule corrupted many Republicans and saw George Bush rubber stamp any and all spending that crossed his desk because his party proposed it, and does not believe that the Democrats will be able to restrain themselves? I do.

Do you know anyone who would LOVE to see the media eat crow and watch Rachel Maddow, et al left speechless? I do.

So while you color your electoral map blue, you might what to think about that of which you do not know...

Good luck.

Complacency is always an issue with Democrats. Look at Clinton in 1996. Right before the election he was polling at 13% but whose win margin was 8%.

s But if Obama's ground game is so vastly superior, if Obama's money is such a huge advantage, why is this even necessary?

Will the youth vote take off work, cut classes and skip getting out the vote to prematurely celebrate?

Obama has peaked. He has maxed out his support. Do you even KNOW any undecided voters?

Hell yes, I am entitled to have a VOTE the counts!

I'll congratulate you Wednesday morning IF Obama wins.

The media in the tank with Obama? The same media that has been repeating the stupid canard that Obama is a socialist without giving any historical context. Moreover, it is not the media that's saying the race is over. They are looking at the polls and Obama has consistently been ahead. The race has been rather stable. Now the Obama campaign has been counseling against complacency and not relying on the polls. They have been warning that tightening will occur. I am sure if McCain has been ahead for the past few weeks, you would be saying that the race is over. So spare me the hypocrisy.

CraigHickman On MSNBC. The reporter didn't correct him at all.

The MSM is focused on Pennsylvania, taxation lies, and smears.

They're trying to help the GOP steal another election.

My mother said we live in a virtual dictatorship and if the GOP steals three in a row, then she, as usual, is right.

There were reports that soldiers from Virginia in Kuwait weren't going to have their votes counted over some technicality on the ballot.

Imagine that. Denying our troop overseas from casting a vote in Northern Virginia. If we sit by and allow these things, we are no better than the scoundrels who keep duping us.

I haven't read anything here on the subject, but if you recall most of the soldiers Barack visited in Kuwait this summer are black.

Cheri Rodham, as in Hillary Clinton? That's her brother, right? I know I saw something here in JJP about the Clintons doing some undercover campaigning for McCain.

Anybody know the latest on this story?

No doubt. Most of the Democratic sources used by Politico are Clintonistas. Whenever it pertains to the presidential race, always take it with a grain of salt. According to this article in the New Republic, Axelrod is not planning to join the administration. In fact he may leave politics altogether. Here is the link:

The fact that Obama will lose the undecideds is no surprise. McCain is expected to win 70% while Obama wins 30%. Even at that margin Obama can still win the election.
