I spent most of my birthday sleeping and recovering from this nasty cold. I did manage to muster up the strength and go out for lunch with Erin and Jeff. Too bad I couldn't taste anything, haha.

Thanks for your kind words. This a very old drawing that I continue to work on, on and off. She's a wood nymph, so there will not be any wings.
Wait a tick, you like scones? I was going to ship some out to you, but my scones are kind of like a cross between a biscuit and muffin top in terms of texture (not taste). I know you're anti-muffin, so I didn't want to chance it. Dah, I will bake for you next time, dearie!
Rode the double-decker on the way in, and the single on the way out.

OMG - those are soooooo cute!! You seriously rock! Question though....does it harden up and maintain it's shape? I'm trying to figure out another method for the caketoppers....mom suggested having it made in Taiwan using dough/clay stuff.

Hallo Stay-C,
Thanks! Yup, they do harden up quite quickly. The sugar paste is more easily molded and shaped than fondant (and cheaper to purchase, which is a plus). The only drawback is that it is very sticky (will stick and clump to your fingers while you're shaping). Strangely enough, even though it has no problem sticking to my fingers, it has trouble sticking to other pieces of sugar paste (ears were a pain to get on).
Its natural color is white. I used food coloring gel and kneaded it in to color it. I also used the same gel to paint in the detail like Totoro's whiskers. I hope that helps!
