in Reading Helps to Reduce Stress on Small Hands, Big Ideas
I feel the same way about Kindle...there is just no substitute for the feel of a book in your hands.

Grace Boyle @Dollface Agreed. I like to hear that others feel the same way. It invokes serenity and nostalgia for me.

This story is tragic and hilarious. Love it. I have the same issue with slightly indifferent roommates. I like that they don't know whether I'm home or not, but when I do make an appearance they act just like your suitemates.

in Feminism Needs Work on Doing Feminism
Hey there. I'm pretty new to writing about feminism and being active in my feminist beliefs. However, in a pretty short time I have run across many women who claim that men can't be feminists for the reason you mention...it takes "our cause" out of our hands and puts it in the hands of you evil men.

Umm...f*** that!! Maybe I'm just more of a humanist, but I don't think all men are bad and incapable of empathizing with women's problems and issues! So, while it's probably easier to just call yourself "pro-feminist" on this blog so you don't get a bunch of people calling you out on referring to yourself as a feminist, in my opinion you are...a feminist. You are thoughtful and concious of women's issues and that is something that more men (and women) should do.

Keep doing what you're doing. I also agree that feminism should address WoC. Very good point.

in Your Author on Doing Feminism
Hey, I stumbled upon your site and I'm definitely interested to read your views on feminism. It's pretty rare to see a male blogger discussing feminism. Rock on.

in Websites Worth Caring About on Josh Klein Web Strategy
Interesting article. My blog is still pretty new (only a few months old) but I've been seeing a steady upwards trend in terms of page hits & reader comments. I hope to eventually grow the blog exponentially in that sense. However I am not interested in the money aspect at all. I want to increase readership so that my ideas can reach more people and I can interact with others. Even if I could make good money with my blog in the future, I really care about creating useful, good content for the enjoyment of others.

When you said, "I’m passionate about using the internet to redefine our world. That’s why I’m here," that really spoke to me. I feel the same way.

joshklein Awesome. I think a blog, barring a direct commercial reason for existence, is an investment in yourself. I'm glad others feel the same way.

I second Nancy.

It's amazing and historic that Obama got elected President. That by no means entails the end of racism or prejudice. We have yet to have a female President, or an atheist President, etc. There is a lot of ground to cover in terms of eradicating prejudices. This is a good step, but it's just that -- one step in the right direction.

I liked your post...and I hope you don't think you need plastic surgery!!! That's your decision to make, not your mother's...and what an awful "surprise".

I agree with you about Dark Knight, though. Mmm Christian Bale, Heath Ledger...

in Decorating On A Budget on BRIGHT YOUNG THING
Great post! When decorating my apartment, having a budget is pretty important. This post has inspired me to try to be more creative with what I have already (and maybe make a few more cheap purchases).

I just heard that Threadbanger.com has a new video series with tips to DIY decorate your apartment on the cheap. It's worth checking out!

I heard pretty crappy things about the last book. Might pick it up for a laugh...but then again, I don't know if I want to read all 700+ pages just to find out exactly how terrible it is.
