in Twitter-me this. on geeky
i agree with all of those reasons to use twitter

But the thing that this post really points out is how a social net without a lot of structure can develop into many things at the same time

like the internet "dumb network" that spans all kinds of amazing services, maybe twitter is the "dumb social net" that spawns all kinds of amazing social uses.

if you haven't read Emergence, i highly recommend it

in Test des sacoches FabrixCases.com pour EEEPC ! - By Pierre Lecourt - - Blogeee.net on Blogeee.net

- By Pierre Lecourt - - Blogeee.net on Blogeee.net

Why not sleep with a firearm under your pillow? I do. Doesn't bother me a bit. I'm not the princess and the pea.

in Dodd Leaves Iowa to Walk the Walk, Talk the Talk on The Iowa Independent
The Filibuster GOES ON! Matt Browner-Hamlin at ChrisDodd.com says:

I just wanted to pop in with an update for what's going on in the Senate regarding FISA.

Right now, Senator Dodd remains on the Senate floor, speaking out on FISA and retroactive immunity whenever he has had the opportunity. This is not the filibuster.

Earlier today a cloture vote on the motion to proceed passed, as expected. We're now waiting for the Senate majority and minority leadership to establish the ground rules for debate on amendments to the underlying FISA bill by the Intelligence Committee.

Once those rules are established, we expect the Senate to begin by debating the Dodd-Feingold Amendment, which would strip retroactive immunity from the underlying bill. If that Amendment fails to pass, Senator Dodd will seek to hold the floor and filibuster the underlying bill. He will speak for as long as he can.

Keep watching C-SPAN 2 to follow the debate about FISA and retroactive immunity. We'll keep you posted with updates - there's still a long way to go in this process and contrary to reports by the New York Times and CQ Politics, the telecom companies have not yet won anything.

in Bill spins Rosie on FOX Attacks!
"How is it possible for a plane with a wing span of 125 ft to go through a 20 ft hole and be swallowed up?"

Well, let's see. Assume you are an average sized person, perhaps 10" thick. We shoot you out of a cannon at 500 mph. Down range is John Ehrenfeld bent over. I suspect you will fly right through Ehrendfeld's one inch asshole and make a bigger hole on the other side. Because Ehrenfeld is so dense there is nothing left of you after impacting at that speed. So, it didn't happen. I don't SEE any carbon in the air so it can't be causing global warming either.

"...Bush administration has done by means of their actions to weaken the constitution ..."

You have your head up your ass too. The regressives are the ones attacking the constitution. We don't need a piece of paper stating we can defend ourselves. Remember that.

Razi and Grayson, why do you waste your time with these mental midgets? Their heads have been so far up their asses for so long that the methane has rendered them incapable of logical thought processes.

in Blaming and Gaming the Blame Game on The Minnesota Independent
Well... Pawlenty and Molnau didn't make the 35W bridge fall down. In fact they had their fingers crossed hoping it wouldn't. But that's all they did to prevent it happening. The truth is their draconian cuts and roadblocks to transportation funding are sowing the seeds for many more bridge collapses in the future - on someone else's watch. They are guilty in tragedies yet to happen.

Then there's the fact that Molnau is not competent to run a state department - or to deal with anyone without biting his/her head off. She needs to go. Now.

in ‘Bridging’ the Political Divide on The Minnesota Independent
This IS Political This is a tragedy, but it has political roots. How we as a society collect and spend tax money is always political. Money is required to build and maintain infrastructure. Political decisions determine what kind of infrastructure we build and how it is maintained. Political decisions led up to our current situation, with the 35W bridge lying in the water of the Mississippi.

Tim Pawlenty's decision to repeatedly veto transportation bills - and in effect force the spending decisions HE wanted to make, ignoring will of the majority of legislators - has consequences. Without adequate money for monitoring and replacing infrastructure, we will have more disasters like this one. He is gambling that the next one will fall on someone else's watch. The public's memory is short and Pawlenty will be long gone to his next big gig by then.

It's right to link this disaster to Pawlenty. His policies are setting up up for more of the same.

in Eye For An Eye on The Colorado Independent
Well.... I've been under the impression that drunk-driving stops usually involve at least 2 officers these days simply to increase the number of witnesses available to testify that the field sobriety tests were carried out appropriately. 3 officers doesn't sound like that much of a stretch to me.

Personally, I'm a little more concerned about the media publishing details about an alleged cop-killer from a privacy angle. Sounds like a lot of people are worked up about this one for all the wrong reasons.
