I had moved most of my money from ING direct to HSBC direct for about 18 months. And It was a good decision. Why would you want to stay with ING direct when you can get better yield at another bank.

Regarding the virtual keyboard of HSBC. I like it. It added another level of security to prevent key-logger.

To me the more security feature the better. After all It's my money, I am talking about.

Today there are more banks giving 6% yield, I'm thinking about moving my money out of HSBC direct to make my money work harder for me me and me.

I have come to the conclusion they (Teeboom and DeanE) are trying to union bust. They keep moving the target. I don't know what, short of an illegal strike like NYC transit workers, and before that, the illegal NYC garbage strike. Just a few days turned the whole attitude of the government around.

This parent is worried, because that is not the answer anyone wants.

Why is it that Teeboom rejected on for not being rich enough in the early years, just did not recuse himself with family who is new to teaching. Conflict of interest.

This hothead is a contract plower for Nashua. Hope the drinking took place after he was off the clock. He did a rotten job, at least he won't be plowing my neighborhood anymore. They made healthcare concessions based on the $. The $ was pulled. This is a long history of the BOA (read: Teeboom and Deane) holding contracts. Read the story by Chief Conley printed today, and the impact the contract stalls had on retiring, and recruiting. Wake up people, this is impacting the city, in a bad way.

I just did the math on what the teachers asked for. Per person, it costs $3.67 per resident per month if you do per capita, or, for a $250,000 home, (the type least likely to afford any increase) it is $64 annually, or $5.33 per month increase, as most pay mortgages with tax, and that is how they see it. So, for $5-10 a month, you want a strike, the publicity, and it will be national coverage. What will that do to property values.

I think you must be a city employer. I have only worked in the private sector. For my entire career of having to budget, the model has ALWAYS been 50% of salary to budget for benefits to determine entire budget line item per headcount. If that is just catching up in the public sector, wow. But that is the industry norm, not an aberration. I don't think some have any experience in this arena, and it all seems out of line, but really, it isn't.

Something to remember is that our taxes are much lower comparitively with other communities of our size, with our service levels. No one is getting a free ride, anywhere.

No, they don't get SS was my point. They are forced to take the retirement program if they are like other city employees. Which is why they are forced to stay if they wanted to leave, they can't vest into SS without 20 years full time.

No, there is a new law, to prevent double dipping of state employees. Nice, huh? They are going after widows who worked for the state who were also collecting SS on deceased husbands, and hitting them for a bill of 100k. If they can afford a lawyer, they usually win in court, if not, the widow is in biiiiiiiiiiiiig trouble. This is a recent development. What you say did used to be the case.

And my point was, hardly anyone is aware that they don't get social security. All the Tee/eane's complain about is the pension driving the city broke, and how they are trying to 'get' a bigger pension. Both those gentlemen will be getting SS, either from the Raytheon, or the country club they work at. Oh, I just figured out where Deane's class envy comes from. Seriously, just now.

It seems to me that the fight is over 3ish Million dollars. The fight comes down to should 1,000 people split paying that, or or tens of thousands (tax payers). Can't the percentage of the first year be lowered, or reduced to twelve months, so the number is reduced? Although the number is arbitrary, you can't minimize that number to the 1,000 people it is split between. But the vitriol that is trhown out there is like pouring gas on the fire. Telling teachers they are stupid if they work more than the contract says was a political trick, in my book, and the teachers walked into it. Now, hasTeeboom successfully made the teachers the bad guys by goading them into it? Four way talks should have happened after the first rejection, this is long over due, and hasn't been handled well, or respected, which was just more gas on the fire. This has gotten toxic, and not good for any party, and driven some great teachers away. That is the long term impact that is forseeable, but I wonder what other unintended consquences may ensue.

Sure, the teachers should dump the unions. Because people would obviously do well negotiating individually with the BOA, as they would have to, on a case by case basis. Surely that is an incentitive, based on the treatment and fairness demonstrated in the negotiations when they had the power of being 1000 strong.

If the desired outcome is union busting, the city is making the worst case for it. And the hard ball game is just showing every union not to let a contract expire, or to strike on the day of expiration. This is going to have long term negative impact on the city, and the education system, from loss of competent teachers.

Does anyone else remember when the HS kids had to go part time, am and pm sessions and the accreditation was lost?

I would much rather see parity at the schools for kindergarten, and more teachers than more administrators. Discipline at the elementary? They really aren't a discipline issue at that age, are they? What is a better question is are we in the business of Kindergarten or not. Why do some schools get one program, and others get another. Define what is best, and stick to it. Or decide what we can afford, and stick to it. But to change it by district smacks of something else.

Of course it wasn't Teeboom's fault that Teeboom failed in his previous attempt. He went to the office crying that if his wife couldn't help him, he didn't want to do it. I hear it he was then asked to leave.
Thank God Bolton is is saying that of course no one wants to fire all the teachers, because that IS what Teeboom is saying. Publically. When this is all over, impeachment proceedings need to start. Not for wanting to get a reduced contract, but for the public insulting, and attempts to ridicule the teachers and make them want to strike and quit. Inciting a riot perhaps? Sanctions at minimum. Which of course will make the Fred Heads so happy.

So parents who are thinking of still sending in kids if the strike happens, which teacher are you more excited to have, the 19 year old, fresh out of the High School with no job, or Teeboom? Can you imagine?

My kids won't go. I don't need babysitters, they need an education, from qualified individuals, trained to teach the subjects my kids are in. This if rediculous. Savings at all costs, Mr. Teeboom? Of course, your kids are done with school.

First of all I would like to set the record straight. The barnstorming military all star team is NOT affiliated or sponsored by the U.S. Military. The players are active duty members who take leave to partcipate. Mr Alford promotes the team much like a boxing promoter would. He gets teams to pay his clubs expenses to play indy teams or police departments or the fire dept like they did here in Brockton. So he is making his money on the front end and in addition he thru his websites try's to get sponsors to pay for the players travel expenses as well. This is the work of a great self promoter who has wrapped himself in the flag after a 23 year career that saw him unable to surpass the rank of 0-4. Dont get me wrong I appreciate his service and as a retired 0-6 (usmc) I can say that after reading his bio he is a little loose with the facts in his career. I will continue to support the rox however wil not attend any american defenders games as I find the name to be offensive to my brothers and sisters who are in the theatre in harms way.

By the way someone refrenced a blue angel fly over as a posiibility. That will never happen as they already have the tour schedule out for 09 and between shows and training in Pensacola can not divert to Nashua for a fly over.

In March 2006, David Foy, a Facilities person, was killed just outside Karachi Consulate in a car bombing. What can State or CIA do to protect Bhutto in-country when they can barely protect their own stationed there or those on TDY? The 4 Pakistan posts are already unaccompanied tours because it's so dangerous. Peshawar has always been the worst--no one goes outside there.

I think Dyncorp is the security contractor in Afghanistan for Karzai. Diplomatic Security pays a lot for them. I doubt the Pakistanis would put up with the same arrangement. The Afghanis barely do.

Baaad play, but weird things happen and everyone deserves an isolated gaffe. Church is a good player - great outfielder, and has shown he has a good stick. Give him a chance to play his way out of his struggles at the plate. If you're gonna trade him at least do that first - don't bury him and trade him for less than he's worth.

Little doggies usually can't run for very long, but if she can go for what seems like 25 miles, you may have the Marion Jones of shih-tzus/yorkies on your hands. Replace that purple bow with a sweatband - she's a track star!

If you use toll roads that have electronic toll booths they're already tracking you even if your not using the electronic pass. I believe that they take a picture of the license plate of every car that drives through the toll booth whether you use the electronic pass or pay cash to catch toll cheaters.

Some states are mailing out tickets if you get to the next toll booth too quickly; they can calculate that you must have exceeded the speed limit in getting there that fast.
