I just think that we are disgracing the memory of Chris with all these books and videos about him. I don't think he ever wanted to become a pop cult icon... I think that if he ever wanted is story to be told I doubt he would want in to be told within the standard mass media channels. I imagine he'd of preferred it to be told via word of mouth, not blown up like it is now.

More so, I just think he'd be disgraced at the profits driven by sales of said books, re-lease of the book and then movie/s...

I am very glad I found this blog post about this song and I am fascinated by all of the different interpretations. I wanted to see the video to find out what the song is all about. I was dissapointed by the video because it didn't give me any clear answers but after reading your interpretations now I like it. It's all about symbolism. I also thought he was committing suicide but it makes more sense to think he was just jumping to a new life. I love this song!! It's wrapped in romanticism and deep desires of the heart.

He does not have hit since 5 years. All his movies are utter flop except Tagoore and it does not count because its a dubbing movie. Its shame and disgrace on him and his fans to brag about his movies . The last hit movie for him is Indira which was not big hit. The collections of Indira were very dull after 58 day. So Chiru has to literally cut a deal with Aswindutt to run this movie for 100 days so that he & his brother would give callsheets for 2 more movies ( Jai Chiranjeeva and Balu). Again Both there movies were utter flops and Aswindutt burnt his fingers again. I know Chimpu fans r going thru hard times but this is not the way u should take out ur anger on another hero's movie by bad mouthing.

while I was working in chennai I lieved next to his house at Shobhan bus stop and one of his real estate workers told me that he build houses for them just next his estate.
We used to telugu mess near his house and once in a while the onwer of mess used to have words about Shobhan activities.

Thanks a lot for not like todays heroes not inducing ur sons, nephews, brothers, cousins,step cousins and some apes from the zoo too.

The appreciating Rupee hurting the IT companies and export oriented companies is only side of the big picture. I am an NRI and I feel the pinch when I send money to India. There are lot of pros to the appreciating rupee, IMPORTS - technology, raw materials etc. get lot cheaper. Think of Oil and the growth that brings to a nation. With Oil trading close to $130, think about India's plight if the rupee was week, petrol would cost us Rs75/lt, higher inflation and that would spiral the growth downwards. India has strong economy and it continues to grow at a good pace, further strengthening the rupee. If RBI does not put the brakes on the appreciating rupee, it would be probably trading at Rs32/1$ today. My prediction is it will be close to 30 in the next five years.

I used to read Reason, and early issues of Nick's Reason. Frankly, I don't like the cultural turn much. The best articles have been those written by Sullum and Bailey - on biotech, moral policy, etc. I really do like Nick personally. But I think his writing is too cute by half. And the choice vs. control bit is shallow.

I think there are a lot of people who subscribe to Reason, but don't read it. I'd much rather read Wieseltier in TNR or the book reviews in the Atlantic Monthly, than those in Reason, for instance.

On October 8th, 2001, President Bush signed an Executive Order establishing the Office of Homeland Security and the Homeland Security Council. Under Section 3, the Order states that the office shall work with executive departments and agencies, state and local governments and private entities to facilitate collection of information pertaining to so-called "terrorist" threats or activities within the United States.

On October 26th, 2001, President Bush signed the USA Patriot Act into Law as enacte d and passed by a majority vote in Congress. This new Law gives sweeping new powers to both domestic law enforcement and intellegence agencies eliminating the constitutional checks and balances that local, state and federal agencies were previously prevented from abusing. These checks and balances were put into place after previous mis-use of surveillance powers in the past, including the 1974 revelation that the FBI and foreign intellegence agencies had illegally spied on over 10,000 U.S. citizens, including the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Among the new powers these laws and directives enact, include; increased funding for a technical support center within the FBI, authority to intercept and monitor wire, oral and electronic communications, enhanced domestic surveillance procedures, increased coordination and sharing of information and strategy with state and local law enforcement, and indefinate detention and incarceration of foreign nationals suspected of posing a "threat" to the United States.

In addition, a highly controversial option has emerged to monitor and control the populace of the United States: the National ID Card. This type of illegal surveillance is the indicia of a totalitarian police state. If enacted, it will operate as an efficient watchdog to stifle and eventually destroy any modicum of privacy, freedom and/or dissent. Having to show "papers" to governmental functionaries was bad precedent enough in years past, most would even argue "disasterous". In the computer era, an interlinked governmental database will contain one's life history, as well as exposing your identity, for example, when boarding a plane. It may even define your right to drive a car, get and maintain a job, enter an ER room, open or close a bank account, cash a check, buy a gun, or access government benefits such as SSI or Medicaid. Current efforts are now being put in motion to make all state driver's licenses into de-facto National ID Cards, complete with universal ID barcodes, biometric scanners and fingerprint identification features.

Coordinated, orchestrated and managed from the Executive Offices of the Bush Administration, The Office of Homeland Security has now truely become America's New Nazi SS Headquarters. I think between the 2 cesc wins it, his passing is so much better, and he has started to develop a physical presence as well as a defensive side to his game.

I think the two are as different as they are the same, what i mean is that iniesta is more of an attacking player wheras fabregas will come to the defence and pick the ball up to distribute as well as getting back more as well as it not being unusual to see iniesta playin wide, something cesc never does, he is a central midfielder out and out.

You uneducated thicko, the guy did follow the rules, he took the matter to court as he believed he was being discriminated against according to uk law, & the judge agreed with the sikh officer that the laws protecting his right to wear the turban in all situations had been broken, hence it was his superior officers who broke the law & NOT him.
I guess its the 'real british' officers turn to 'set up home in another country' isn't it?

K, quitting smoking is fine. It's good for your own health... but then again, do it slow. Don't push yourself too hard.

Start off with 2 sticks per day and then, gradually decline... don't just stop it in a snap, it might cause you mental stress... pardon me if I'm wrong.

Anyways, all the best in whatever you do.

May... it's gonna be one helluva month. ;)

I find it hard to be apologise to my mum for whatever nonsense I did during my teenage years. They taunt me till today. Now, my mum is proud of me so I haven't been bothered about past issues. My family is brought up in such a way that we don't say that we love a person direct, straight in the face. No. Only my kids do that now. So, I've never told my mum that I love her... but somehow she knows that I do. How? She knows. All moms do. Likewise I do too.

Haha, K that is so very true. I don't actually speak the way I write... No I don't. If you ask me why, cos If I'm gonna write the way I speak.. it's gonna be ugly. Haha.. you know how singaporeans speak don't you? We call it "singlish"... additional words like 'lah, lor,leh,hor' damn... sounds very chinese like. Don't like it one bit. But yeah, sad to say... I do speak like that sometimes. Singaporean.. can't help it you know :P

But yeah, just to improve on my spoken and written.. that's why I write the way I do at my blog.. though not 'very' good... it's good enough for me.

Amazing how the level of english proficiency on this website is quite poor. Especially in the comments being posted. On the cricket issue, I don't think Sehwag would've made much of a difference. Rohit fired as many times as Sehwag would have anyways. In the end, the team was just overconfident. They executed their plans quite poorly. That's why India has faced humiliation.

Don't believe everything you read/hear. I'm an under the radar kind of person. I don't promote IM stuff at all. I do solid 8 figures a year online. I received an invite to go the Vegas event. It would have cost me only a small amount (like $500). I'm not sure if anyone actually PAID $10,000 to be there. The only time I saw mention of it was on the event sign-up page - if you didn't have some way of promoting it, you were asked to opt for the $10k option. Perhaps some people not making money online yet did opt for that as a way to rub shoulders with the gurus. Honestly the way the event was promoted, I actually thought it was a scam leveraging the names of guru attendees.

The reason Apple is not going to buy Yahoo is because it's not a good deal. Yahoo is failing in it's choosen market, so why would anyone want to buy it. Microsoft is just looking for a band aid because their stock is plummeting too.

Anyway, Apple has about 19 billion dollars of profit tucked away for a rainy day. Presumably for current and future R&D. Inventing products that are 5 years ahead of the curve takes some mullah.

Microsoft, on the other hand is willing to buy Yahoo for around 40 billion dollars and Yahoo says this undervalues the stock. Basically Jerry Yang doesn't want to be absorbed by the borg.

Do the math, 19 billion ≠ 40+ billion. And even if Apple could afford Yahoo, they wouldn't want to buy it. They're a wait-for-the-dust-to-settle-and-then-innovate kind of company.

Aron, looks like you are confused about what an H1-B visa is. If a position is filled by an associate in India/China then they do not even need an H1-B visa. Basically eliminating H1-B visa will not prevent outsourcing. Also as per my understanding if a person with an H1-B visa is eliminated then he has to leave the coutry in approx a month. A number of such employees were also layed off and i really feel sorry for them coz they had to simply pack-up and go. It's a big risk that they take hoping to have a better life for their family in this land of opportunity.

I have seen her show and although she tries too hard sometimes to be funny (she is but she over does it sometimes) she's a great lady and shows us 6-10 size women that it is okay to be different from all those anorexic type of celebraties we have nowadays. I think this story is about three things: The Bushies' authoritarian tendencies and Bush's intellectual and emotional stability.
