in Trouble on the radio dial on The New Mexico Independent
The beauty of KHFM was that it was serious classical music, not just the "warhorse" music or easy listening Classical. Kip Allen has been the soul of the station recently. I loved to listen to his pronunciation of names and titles--some can be quite tricky for beginners like me. And I liked that the whole piece of music got played, not just the catchy movements or the bit that fit the time allotment--or if so, the interruption came with an apology. DAMN! I hope the station rethinks its "lite" idea!

in NMI… then and now on The New Mexico Independent
Great to have your perspective, voice and observations back for regular consumption--Saturday's have not been the same since February!
If I could add a comment, it is that Cathy Robbins (now writing in San Diego) worked for the weekly Albuquerque News in late 1970/early 1980 and her stories on the Albuquerque city budget were the best out there, surpassing the local dailies. She was also Green before her time, climbing up to the 7th floor of City Hall on her morning runs to pick up news releases from the city's PIO.

in Honeybees at risk on The New Mexico Independent
Wow, this article is incredibly detailed, with Part II to come! And, great photos, too.
There was a TV story this year about a transient beekeeper, driving a semi truck load of bees, along the eastern seaboard and what it meant to crop production.
One of the concerns was that the beesâ ability to smell for amazingly long distances was impaired by environmental pollutants.
On a personal note, this year my brother put a bee boxhive, for the first time in 40 years, in our organic orchard/garden in Los Ranchos and all seems well. It will be a chance to see first hand how the bees are doing here.

in Bo Diddley’s New Mexico roots on The New Mexico Independent
This is a proper New Mexico Tribute! It brings Bo Didley to life and shows a strong NM connection I had not known. When I caught a suggestion in a TV show that Didley felt passed over in recognition, I did not quite get it. But, knowing that he did not have the money to send his kids to college? ...that really puts it in perspective.

in Brace yourself on The New Mexico Independent
If you vote on June 3, election day, this web address will give âwhere to voteâ info for Bernalillo county voters:
http://bernco.gov/live/departments.asp?dept=231...
Since it is a party primary, a voter must be registered in a political party to vote. Although the President will not be on the Democratic ballot, *all* of the other offices will be, so I hope Democrats who voted in the February Caucus will vote in this primary, also.
Country-wide, voters can use www.vote411.org to find polling locations... I could not get it to come up just now... must be my serverâs glitch, as it is a reliable, national website for the lookup.

With cloud cover today, will the white be visible? This is a great experiment--hope the clouds burn off before midday, and it will be interesting to see the results in all 19 cities.
